That`s me telt. <laugh>

I did cassette conversions years ago without any gadgets.

Loaded them into an editing program and saved them as mp3. Easy peasy.

Will be coming over later, have a natter then.

Well a manager is judged by results and the related issue of how well his buys perform.

Bridcutt..so so jury still out imho

Scocco atm is a fail as he has hardly played

Virgini/Alonso..I think they were Poyet's seem to have made the grade..but are they loans and need buying.

Jones and Gomez too early to say but look straight replacements for Bardsley and Gardner.

Borini is a good player be good if Poyet lands him.

Therefore I reckon Poyet is ahead in the judgement of his 'buys'.

Seems fair Sunderpitt,

Bridcutt we will give a chance, he was incredibly rated and several team were in, tough to join a team in deep **** so we shouldn't write him off just yet, his performance v the Mags was excellent and there were a couple of snapshots of a good player.

Vergini & Alonso make up for it, massive parts in our survival, and 100% agree, both should get 3-4year deals.

Any player coming into a crisis situation, at a club torn apart, would have his work cut out.

Bridcutt had to do that and step up a division as well.

A full pre-season, when he can actually get to know his team mates, will be invaluable.

I've no doubt he'll become a good player for us.

Possible options and not all these will come off. Good acquisitions and not a kings ransom getting them either.

Mannone and Speroni behind the sticks.

Giacherinni, Bangera, Johnson, Gomez, Cattermole and Bridcutt would be a decent midfield to choose from?

Mutch, Fletcher, Wickham and Borini up front not too shabby either.

Jones, JOS, Brown, Vergini, Celutska, Alonso, Mancienne, and Lescott would be fantastic defensive group too.

It could be a good season with a full Gus pre-season and league campaign for us but then I've said that before and crashed and burned.

I'm not convinced Speroni will come and play second fiddle, given his age and that he had a wonderful season, I think we might find it tough getting a second string keeper as Vito was not only one of the leagues best, he's become a fan idol.

I think we may see Pickford on the bench and pull through a young keeper from the youths to the development squad/ressies, Vito isn't gonna lose his shirt, and anyone we look at is gonna see that.

I'd love us to get Lescott, indeed if we signed Lescott, Borini & Alonso we'd have a first XI I was already pretty comfortable with, with some 3 months to spare.

If we then added Banega, Thorgan Hazard and a striker (Sow? Rhodes?), I'd be cock-a-hoop.

Do you think Fletcher will stay Cest ....... I just thought he'd be going to somewhere like Villa or West Brom.

Sunderland ready to offer £10m to land Liverpool's Fabio Borini
01 June 2014 08:50 AM By James Hunter
Sunderland are hoping they can prise last season's loan star Fabio Borini away from Liverpool, for a reunion on Wearside

Sunderland's Fabio Borini celebrates scoring against West Bromwich Albion
Sunderland are poised to launch a £10m bid to bring Fabio Borini back to the Stadium of Light.

The Liverpool striker spent last season on loan with the Black Cats and was a huge hit on Wearside, scoring 10 goals and playing a vital role in the club’s late charge to safety.

Boss Gus Poyet rates the Italian very highly and has made no secret of the fact he would love to re-sign the 23-year-old if he leaves Anfield this summer.

And Sunderland are hoping that Liverpool’s £4m move for Southampton and England striker Rickie Lambert will open the door for them to prise Borini away from the Merseysiders.

Borini was Reds boss Brendan Rodgers’ first signing when he paid Parma £12m for his services in 2012, but the frontman was only a fringe figure at Liverpool which is why he was allowed to go out on loan.

And after being a regular at Sunderland last season, he will not want to revert to being a mere squad player - even for a side that will be competing in the Champions League.

When Sunderland looked doomed to relegation, there was talk of Borini moving back to Serie A this summer.

However the Black Cats’ ‘miracle’ escape means a return to the North East is a viable option.

Borini knows he is a big favourite with the fans at Sunderland, with his Wembley goal in the Capital Cup final contributing to him being voted the club’s Young Player of the Year award.

And this weekend it was announced he has also come out on top in a fans’ poll for Sunderland’s Goal of the Season, with his winner in the Wear-Tyne derby against Newcastle in October scooping the award.

Poyet is in the midst of a major overhaul of his squad, which will include the arrival of at least one striker.

Meanwhile, reports have also emerged linking Hull City with a £5m move for Sunderland winger Adam Johnson.

Johnson enjoyed his best season in a Sunderland shirt last term, although it is possible Poyet could be tempted to part with the former England man if the price was right.

However the Black Cats are unlikely to accept a £5m loss on a player who joined them from Manchester City two years ago.

Agreed. When I got up to the SoL for the Hull game in Feb, he impressed me. Early on, Brown was off, (which I missed by a minute) and he was giving JOS some stick for letting the ball get behind him. His confidence in managing the line was great to watch.

I'm hoping he could be a great defensive stalwart for us for the next 3-4 years. He's still learning, but one thing he doesn't appear short on, and that's confidence. And I like that!

Yeah I was at that match and agree, it was nice to see how he automatically slotted into place every time a defender overlapped or went forward.

Sounds basic but we've lacked that. If midfield and defenders are worried to stray out of position the attacks will keep breaking down.

In an ideal situation, Liverpool would keep Borini, so we will have 4 very good attacking players and loan Aspas to you guys, so you can develop him as well and give him games ;)

You'll be begging for Borini back when you realise Lambert is a Poundsaver Andy Carroll <ok>

Aspas just doesn't look suited for the English game, you'll have to cut your losses and let him go home I reckon.

Would love us to sign Borini. He only has to look at Welbeck, that lad was class in a Sunderland shirt but now constantly get stick from Man U fans and does not get regular games. If Borini comes he would get first team football and would be a fans favourite.

I would not mind Aspas but I don't think he would get in our side above Giacc. Johnson is going to have the same problem, if we sign Borini and Giacc does not leave Johnson is going to have to be at his very best to get a game. I would not sell him for any less than 12m. Having options on the wing of Johnson, Borini and Giacc again this season would be fantastic.

Aspas is pipe man, I was baffled that they chucked that money at him after half a decent season
