I wouldn't. There's a reason the Barca fans and the Barca management don't want him despite Xavi coming to the end of his career; he's simply not as good as the media/Football manager fans think. Watch him play and he's good, sure, but really over rated. He's not the best defensively, not very quick, can't dribble and is overall pretty average when a team isn't build around him to float and do whatever he wants (like when he performed for Arsenal). Wouldn't fit in with us.

Hopefully it'll mean we'll go for Shaqiri if Saints turn down our offer <ok>

Like I said it's good for southampton a future they do stand firm.... It cannot be a fire sale here so if they can get to wc and get a manager in then they've every chance

I hope we move on, 25 mil is no value at all here. By all mean come back after wc if nothing else turns up but I fancy now a transfer request or spurs bid rather than hearing we agree fee

I agree, potentially great but actually ruined as a midfielder by arsenal pushing him further and further forward. He doesn't know how to play like Xavi it's that simple!

Fabregas is a top class player. Not on the same level as Xavi or Iniesta but he was still one of the more effective players in terms of assists and goals in that team.

£30m release clause would be very good IMO, and it would p*ss the gooners if we got him!

£25m for Lallana is the last bid from us - far too much for him.

Sorry, just a bit happy. Hope you treat Rickie well, I'll be rooting for you to win the league next season. Unless you sign Lallana.

I hope that's true. Ridiculous money for him, £15m tops.
That money can be put to good use elsewhere and both clubs will be happier.

southampton are only rejecting for higher offer... lfc MUST walk away and get a really top player for that.

Lallana is good = not sure he's even top 4 standard (very good) he's certainly not a top player.. we can get very good players like pedro or sanchez for that money for chuff sake.

true, but how much dif will there be in the wages offered? quite a bit i should imagine.

just have to hope this quality type of player accept our penny pinching wages we offer lol (well you know what i mean)

good point. lallana would be south of 100k either of those would be 150k per week.

    i assume both of course.

Time to walk away. Just holding out for more now and expecting us to keep going. Shouldn't be held to ransom

  18. What if someone else signs Lallana? Wouldn't you prefer to see him join us :)

    #2978
  19. Yep, completely agree. £25m for Lallana is far to much.
