Keep him, it means one less player to bring in unless O'Neil gets another contract.

We won't get value for him as he's done his knee last season.
He was shipped out rather than not wanting to play in the champ, there's a huge difference to me.

Also, mbia is out of contract so he won't be back.

Really, all our loanees? What about some of the younger ones like Hitchcock etc. I don't they did much wrong when they had the rare opportunity.

Should jettison the likes of Luke Young first and anyone being paid stupid money. Time to build for the future.

There is an option in his contract on a third year. Not sure if it's him or QPR who have that option though.

I was wondering that - similar players. Given Granero is older and is coming back from injury, I'd go for Carroll. If he can bulk up a bit, he has great potential.

I read that as the players we loaned from others - not our youngsters that we loaned out...

If he continues to get caught in possession. I shall continue to point it out!

Quite correctly. Adel was very rarely caught in possession.

Fair enough Col, and it's almost inevitable that if he does play he'll be crap.

Some harsh views on here regarding Granero, he's injured and contracted for another year so put up with it people, he's going to be staying. No one else would touch him IMO.
But there's a good footballer there, let's face it anyone would look bad in that mess Hughes created. We all remember Niedweski (sic?) coming on the podcast and saying they didn't know what their best team was after what was it, 8 months into the Tafia's tenure? If they didn't know how must the players have felt?
    Un f@cking believe able !

It's the case of making the best of a bad situation.:steam:

If we could get a fee for him I'd probably let him go as think the pace of the Prem doesn't suit his style of play (similar to Taarabt) otherwise he's a reasonable squad player.

I wasn't talking about our youngsters, Hitchcock was celebrating in the Wembley dressing room. I'm talking about the overpaid mercenaries that brought us down...

Granero will be next season's Luke Young. Currently injured, on good money and will probably not get a chance to play even when fully fit again except in an emergency.

For once, I agree with Swords about him and all the other loanees. It would be a mistake to jettison the players that got us up in favour of those that now want to return and those that see us as the perfect club to see out the twilights of their once glittering careers. However for as long as we have them, they [the loanees] deserve a chance to show that their attitude has changed. We'll know soon enough whether they are prepared to take it and what effect their inclusion in match day squads, not necessarily the starting line-up. has on the current players. There can no distinction between any of them. If Granero is given a chance so too should Mbia if he is still ours, and Taarabt. Some are now fondly remembering Granero on the basis of one match against Spurs (which we lost) and as I recall, the play that led to their second goal started with him being dispossessed and then whingeing about it. Granero was the biggest disappointment by far that season and to my mind he had a Galactico arrogance about him. Next season will be tough. We don't want players who are not prepared to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in and who have the vision to play the pass needed immediately rather than take time to think about it before passing the buck to a centre half.
