I'm sure we'll sign players to replace those outgoing. But if we sell 70m+ worth, which is entirely possible if Lallana/Shaw/Osvaldo are moved on, do you see us reinvesting all of that money? My expectation is that the next manager will see perhaps half that, with the remainder diverted in the name of stability.

The thing that worries me most is RK's common motif from his very first interview was stressing the quality of personnel we have here. We've now lost a number of our coaching staff, a player who has the respect of all at the club and will imminently be losing our brightest young talent. What talent will we have left?! Except our large recruitment team of course

Well when we get a new manager he will bring in his own staff so that is sorted.

Unlike some, I don't think Katharina is deliberately asset stripping (she's put too much effort into trying to get the board sorted out), but I think decisions are being made on pure business principles without understanding the nature of football. Of course she knows more about the financial side than we do, but you can't hack at a good side and just hope you will get in replacements of a similar calibre whilst clearing a profit. Players may look good on paper but not fit in...we have seen a fair bit of that over the past 5 years. Better to keep players who know each other together. Lambert may be good business and, as I said, he may have been on a promise after the West Ham deal was cancelled. We should sell no more than one of Shaw and Lallana.

The positive thing is that if we do need to urgently pay off the 27m debt, we can do that by selling Lallana on his own so it's not like we are relying on an owner to come in and pay off the debts like in 2009 and having to sell a huge amount of players, albeit we may sell quite a few due to other clubs meeting our value rather than desperately needing the money.

When Newcastle sold Nolan and Barton in the summer before 11/12, along with having sold Carroll in January, I thought they were a dark horse for relegation, but need up coming fifth!

Well, that's hopeful. But of all the things Krueger has said in the (heh, somewhat fruitless) attempt to reassure fans, that's a conspicuous absence and would go a long way to calm the current furor...he could buy a hell of a lot of goodwill with a simple "we do not want to sell, but if our hand is forced all of those funds will be at the disposal of the new manager in our quest to [500 words of management speak]".

Pretty sure we could sort out the outstanding debt...someone of Katharina's standing and a club with a massive guaranteed income next season should have no problem rescheduling the debt.

I just see it as he is adjusting to his new job. I am willing to give him time to see if he steps up.

Also last season. We got 13m for our positioning so that's half paid already.

Yeah, the debt isn't a problem, it's just that you don't know how much of our money is going to be reinvested.

I was willing to overcome my initial horror at the flannel he talks and hoped he would bring something new to the club, but he appears to be in the dark about what is going on. Cortese micromanaged and Kreuger wants to avoid that, but not knowing your solitary fit striker is being sold bodes ill. It makes him look an idiot as well as sound like one. I'm sure he means well, but he is out of his depth in a very volatile situation.

I'd have had to use the word 'synergy', and then I'd have had to find a bathtub in which to drown myself.

As I said before the Prem league isn't next week. We will invest in a new striker.
