Bullying self interested councilors versus arrogant bitter bullying Football club owner. No winner there is there it'll rumble on
What a set of thick and uncomprehending bastards we have in our midst. No wonder we end up with such **** councillors if the dumb vindictiveness and lack of nouse on here are owt to go by. More pertinent questions: - why is this article being written now? - at whose behest? - will either party show balls and humility (and ultimately display greater strength) by offering the olive branch in a meaningful way? - can AA see past the end of his own nose in all this? - why can't some Bill Clinton / Mo Mowlam mediator get involved (Alan Johnson or even Steven Parnaby?)
you were glad handed by some politicians thats all. Show me the minutes from that. If they were serious they would remove Geraghty from his role wouldnt they? What does AA want investigating? Malpractice, something illegal? TG is not a nobody, unfortunately he's very powerful and they wont touch him. It is on record, TG will not sell the stadium, will not allow building on Walton St. Brady is on record as putting it to a referendum there is no record of your meeting. I know which i believe.
Why are you so determined not to believe this? I know you're desperate to post a 9-year-old HDM article where they say they didn't want to sell it at the time, but things have changed. Do you have any evidence to suggest it's ****e or just that you really don't want to believe it? Yeah OLM just made it up for this thread of course. Desperate...
Whether you believe me or not is irrelevant, the council are prepared to talk to Assem Allam about developing West Park and the surrounding area.
I'm desperate ****ing hell. Show me any ****ing evidence that Bady has said it in public. You are the desperate one. OLM Are you desperate to develop the stadium?? Brady yes yes we are. OLM Great thanks that Allams a **** for not doing it.
seeing as you work at the council and are "in the know" what does Allam want TG investigating for? Allam refused to work with the council in 2011. Since then what has the council done to attract another investor? Since we had this same discussion in October last year what has the council done to attract another investor? What have they done to get rid of TG since 2011. If the council are so desperate to work with Allam why is TG still in post?
You're desperate because you keep going on about what was said years ago when obviously the point being made is that things have changed since then. Myself, Obi and OLM have all pointed out that the council are prepared to budge on what they said previously but you clearly don't want to believe it. Nick Thompson was confident he could sort something out with the council because they were losing money on it and weren't prepared to pay for its ongoing maintenance (which City were paying for at the time and probably still are). It hasn't happened yet though, I think we know why that is.
What has changed since then? Point me to something provide evidence it has changed. Small talk in a backroom is not policy change, can you not grasp that. Its really not difficult. Go to one of TG's ward meetings and ask him if Allam is ever going to get his hands on the KC or you wont move Fair will you Terry? See what response you get.
As much as I thankful to the old man for all he has done for the club, his threats to walk away suggest that handing the Allams the stadium would simply be the means for the Allams to up the price to any potential buyer. Didn't someone say that gate money only accounts for a small percent of total revenue? If true, then doubling the capacity (assuming we could fill a 50,000 seater which seems unlikely) would still mean it would be the minority revenue stream. The Allams have realised that you need a different business plan for the premiership. In fact, the Allams only chance of recouping their investment is for city to stay in the premiership. so I think all talk of extending the KC, or moving to Melton is a strategy that they no longer have any intention of following. Neither would the council hand over the stadium without conditions of investment been met. Time for everybody to move on from this topic.
Their presence at Wembley is a civic one and always has been at the Cup Final. What's so hard to grasp about this?
It's not going away any time soon. It's an acute worry for Hull City fans that an unpredictable owner needs to keep pumping in. A very unstable business model.
Do you not think people have looked into it? Do you really think we're just making this up? You can block it out all you want but I know what Nick Thompson said and I believe him. He wasn't at all impressed by Geraghty but he knew a deal could be done.
It's not a worry for me as long as the money he keeps pumping in is from revenue earned from being successful.
It isn't though. It's just more and more debt, and yet it seems like whatever success we have on the pitch we can't even start to pay back the debt regardless. I mean, imagine if we hadn't got promoted, stayed up, played in the cup final and got to Europe. How ****ed would the finances be then?
