http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footb...defender-joleon-lescott-3626095#ixzz33CedyY9C Whether he would come or not I don't know but i'd offer him terms here without a doubt. He's got a minimum of 2 or 3 sessions still at his peak and that's an improvement over O'Shea and who knows what Wes has left in his tank. He wants premiership football and we need central defensive strengthening. He is strong, pacy, cracking tackler and brutal in the air. Top class IMO and on a Bowman! What's not to like? Borini and Lescott would be amazing business IMO and provide excellent quality to our team.
I think he would be excellent, and a step above what we have now and in the past. Lescott & Brown at the back?? Or even Lescott and Vergini? To CB who can pass and have a bit of pace about them... Ideal back four.... Jones....Lescott....Vergini....Alonso
He'll be looking for around £100k per week i reckon £5m a year £15m over 3 years, get in there ellis
i would have him all day. there will be a lot of teams in for him though and chances are he expects decent wages. would defo be a good signing
Any good player will want decent wages and Lescott is a top defender IMO. He could walk into Man Utds defence for me. £15m over 3 years with no fee is a great deal for us.
Sorry, couldn't resist. Regarding the player/deal I agree 100% with you. He'd be guaranteed lots of playing time but I can see Southampton or Everton going for him.
Absolutely agree, for me he should be a priority target. He would be first choice and even a potential captain, maybe we could sway him that way. He's easily top 6 standard, if not really City standard any more, so there'll be competition, but this would be a real coup for us.
Read a story on him in the paper not too long ago and it said he was willing to half his current wages in exchange for guaranteed premier league football.
Was on about 98k a week at City I'd definitely have him for around 40k, but realistically, teams like WHU & QPR would offer him 60k+, which imo is too much for us to spend on a defender
I dunno, it's a deifferent level player ain't it? No fee so effectively over a 3 year deal we can write off maybe £5-6million he'd cost under contract, it could be justified that way.
Take him on a 3 year contract then flog him after a year ...... we'd cop £3/4 million so it would have cost next to nowt
