    I'm slightly annoyed if the rumour that Liverpool have demanded this go through prior to the World Cup or the deal is off thing is true. If that's the case, sorry Liverpool, the deal is off (particularly at £4m). I'm sure Rickie, dream or not, could and would have coped. That would really worry me on a number of levels if true.

    I understand Saints negotiation skills will get the following in add-ons:

    Lambert scores 5 goals for Liverpool - Saints get a set of steak knives

    Lambert scores 10 goals for Liverpool - Saints receive Amazon vouchers up to, but no greater than, £100

    Lambert plays in the Champions League - Saints get two tickets for a Boston Red Sox game of their choice (cheapest seats, must pay for own flight & accommodation)
