Imagine if he failed his medical. It would be weird, being devastated for him but at the same time elated that he is staying!

Funny you say that as was some whispers that he increasingly relies on pain killers to play.

Might not be an issue if he's mostly on the bench and not expected to play twice a week at Liverpool, depends how strict their medical is and what things they deem "flexible"

 

If I was your current employer and you were a) vital to my operation, and b) irreplaceable, I would point out that dreams don't always come true. So sorry mate, you'll have to fight me on your way out the door.

But I'd begin looking for your replacement straight away. Even though I just called you irreplaceable.

To be fair, it does seem pretty harsh for the club to put prices up and then seem willing to sell many star players. I guess we can't really say anything until replacements have been brought in.

I too was thinking whether he will pass the medical bearing in mind the continual hip and back issues that he suffers with but I guess a few pain killers will hide that.

Like what? Offering him a raise? In all normal employment you can't keep someone against their will.

Sky now also saying the fee is 4mil initially. I know Rickie is probably desperate for this move but that seems quite poor from our point of view. Whatever the add-ons are, is he that likely to reach them?
