Representatives of CTWD have met with the council and the MP for the constituency that includes the KC and they are both very keen to see the land around the KC developed. Unfortunately, AA won't talk to them unless they agree to an investigation into Geraghty, as AA wants to publicly humiliate him. It's pathetic, he's a nobody.

I posted a similar thread as well. I am so annoyed by this that I even considered sending an open letter to HDM with a request for publication. "It is about time that Dr Allam and Hull City Council members stopped all of this sniping at each other. Division between the club and the council is destroying the image that both the award of City of Culture and Hull City's excellent season have brought to the City and the Region as a whole. The Citizens of Hull and the supporters of the football club are sick to death of the petty bickering between businessmen and politicians. Hull has faced struggles to shake off its poor image in the media, but together the club and the Council have both succeeded in gaining world wide acknowledgement for the City, yet both sides seem to be determined to destroy the common bond between the club and the City. As a supporter of Hull City, I applaud the Allam family for what they have done for the club and yet all of this is tainted by this dispute. Whatever the reason's behind all of this bickering, get over it and start to work together with Hull City Council. Move forward. Councillors need to represent their wards and the City, they need to understand that they do not paint a very good image of themselves when they continue to fuel the fire of discontent. It is about time that they started to think about resolution rather than recrimination. If the club is so determined to set itself apart from the City of Hull, do it Dr Allam, move the club out of the boundaries, its your club, but stop and think how it could have been. A city that is on the up for once, with a major employer soon to bring regeneration to the City, and the football club will have no access to it beyond supplying sporting entertainment, Hull Tigers, Hull City Tigers or Hull City AFC, no one will really care as it will be just like going to the cinema. It's one individual that he's pissed off with and I wouldn't be surprised if he was disrespectful, he's an idiot, but he doesn't have to deal with him and falling out with the entire council due to the actions of one man is petty and childish.
I'm no expert in business, but surely good business men deal with people they don't like to get a good deal? Personally I feel uneasy if the KC was sold to Allams. If there was any deal it should be the club and with a clause of not being able to separate the club and the stadium when sold.
It is fact. The letter telling poor Nadine she couldn't go to Wembley confirms the attitude of Assem Allam. So did his interview with Angus Young, what feels many moons ago, but may have been only a year ago, said that the issue of the stadium was dead and he wouldn't be discussing it further with the Council. The council want to develop the West Park area. Eventually they will with or without Assem Allam.
I don't think much of Hull politicians and them getting freebies for City games, especially as most of them are rugby promoting idiots with little time for City.It is sickening to see the likes of Prescott offering his opinions on City when he has never show an interest in them. So politicians of any party who weren't City supporters could do one. However the Lord Mayor represents the people of the city and should have been asked along, like them as an individual or not, as happens with other teams.
I don't think a "proper business man" would cut himself off completely from the one thing that would benefit the long term prosperity of the football club, over a perceived slight to his ego.
The council represent the people who vote for them. The Lord Mayor represents the city and the people. Next time it could be a Tory Lord Mayor. But the principle is the same.
Exactly this. Whether people like them or not, the councillors and the lord mayor are representatives of our city, put in place by the electorate by democratic process. This is therefore a snub to the people of Hull and is petty in the extreme.

Lord Mayors, and Mayors ceremonially represent the people of a city, politics doesn't come into it. That is why clubs invite them along. A lot of them use the opportunity to promote the city and even attract investment. Though that would be beyond virtually anybody likely to be made Lord Mayor in Hull.
