Just listening to talk sport and apparently on one of the back pages of one of tomorrow's papers ( sorry didn't hear what paper as wasn't really listening until the letters QPR ) we are after Dawson and Townsend from the spuds
Useful - andros knows us and dawson seems the right sort. Just seen on twitter Brazilian club looking to offer Cesar 3 year deal - source football directnews @footballnews_EN http://www.footballdirectnews.com/p...ians-ready-three-year-deal-for-qpr-keeper.php
With Pochettino taking over things could change very quickly for him. I expect him to stay there unless a very big club comes in for him.
Totally agree, at one time or another both have looked on the verge of leaving but have been brought back into the fold. I imagine the new manager will want to assess the squad before they let anyone go.
I actually think Townsend to us is a very realistic possibility should he want to leave of course. Pochettino has been brought in to get the best out of Erik Lamela who will of course be ahead of Townsend in the pecking order. With the likes of Chadli, Eriksen etc available you'll have to think that Townsend will be considering his future. No brainer for me, him and Phillips on the wings with Hoillet off the bench will cause teams some problems next season.
Would love to see Townsend on our books but, whenever I've watched Spurs, Dawson has seemed slow and ponderous.
Dawson will not play under Pochettino. Pochettino plays a high line, something Dawson is unable to. There were numerous examples of this under Villas Boas. Very likely. Townsend is more likely than people believe imo. Firstly he isn't as good as many on here has him to be. Don't get me wrong he's a quality player and one I'd be happy to land and would strengthen us no doubt. Pochettino like players who can take their opponent on but he would have to play on the left as Pochettino prefers right footed players on the right and lefties on the left. Good point above re Lamela, Spurs would want to get their moneys worth so he will play. Eriksen is a dead certainty to start, and then you have Lennon who I think will be preferred on the right. A possibility, but it won't happen until late in the transfer window imo.
Talkcarp are linking us with David Villa - if we could get him for a reasonable price/wage then I'd be happy with that!
