in which case we've got a 35m transfer budget excluding sales and
maybe all our players are misogynists.

Nothing to say she isn't yet, is there?

The club have NEVER said they won't sell players. They've said that certain motives mean that certain deals then become in the interest of Saints to sell.

Pretty impossible to argue that £9m or so for a 32 year old Rickie Lambert wouldn't be in our interests...?

Who cares what transfer budget we've got. We will not find better players suited to Saints than the ones that will leave.

We'll just buy more pisswipes like Osvaldo or Ramirez.

But, Katharina is the devil woman who wants to asset strip, and sell the club on with no interest whatsoever?

But the chairman has said we don't need the money.

We need the player more than we need the money, even if we DID need the money.

I'm sure they'll use the line of 'the player wanted the move, meaning he wasn't 100% devoted to the club etc etc'.

That'll be the justification and he will go.

Or Lovren! Or Wanyama! Or Rodriguez! Oh, wait a minute, maybe there actually are some really good players, who are not 32, who would be available for the 8-10m we could conceivably get.

Lambert is great, yeah, but if he wants to go and they offer 9-10m then we should be taking it. It would be great for him too.

To everyone who found my earlier message I do sincerely apologise as it wasn't meant to offend, merely meant to suggest that we have become a selling club

if the club have determined that lambert's heart really is with liverpool and we get a more than fair fee for him I can see them letting go.

we arguably let puncheon go for a pittance on compassionate grounds.

after that it becomes difficult to feel ready to accomodate Lallana if he wants to go for personal ambition's sake.

Nothing is ever certain until it happens. You can't expect me to believe someone who predicts things (based on whatever information they may have) is never wrong.

    Adam Blackmore on Twitter:

"Lambert hoping to have deal done in time for a medical on Saturday - Saints won't stand in his way if deal right - club say they're under no financial pressure to sell players - have already turned down offers for Lallana & Shaw"

If we're being realistic he doesn't have long left at the top, and we would only be getting the best out of him for another 1, MAYBE 2 seasons at most. If we accept a 9 million pound bid then that's good business. He'll always be a club hero, and he'll always respect and love the club. This move would finish what's been a pretty perfect career for Lambert, and fair play to him, I wish him the best. It's sad for us fans, but overall a move that suits all, or certainly most, parties involved.

Continues to make a mockery of players signing contracts.

In future, when you get all excited about "Player X" signing a new 3 or 4 year contract, remember days like this eh?

de boer's contract worked out OK for ajax if reports that levy balked at the release fee have any truth to them.

I genuinely will be more upset at him leaving than if my girlfriend were to break up with me.
