Liverpool fans always do this it's hilarious. If I had of suggested this signing on here before anyone else then you would have said no chance because he's a donkey and is no way good enough but now he is better than etoo. Also if you take out pens I'm sure etoo would have a better conversion rate as etoo is way down the pecking order from the spot for us.
Some twitter account says it was rejected. Plus- part of the reason that this rumor started in first place was partially due to faked twitter postings from his family saying they were moving back to Liverpool... these turned out to be photoshopped screenshots of twitter feeds. They never said any such thing. Who knows- maybe we'll sign him... maybe we won't. Que sera sera.

No one is saying Lambert is a great striker- he's merely decent... and better than Eto'o. £4mill is a very good price for him- £8mill is ridiculous over pricing. We would all rather someone other than Lambert- but if only £4mill is being shelled out- then it's not a huge risk- and the money will be spent on other areas of the pitch that need it more. We're not particulary thrilled or excited about Lambert- just prefer him to Eto'o- as I think any sane person would.

And falls back on anecdotal generalisations. I am a Liverpool fan and I, like Biscan said he wouldn't be bad as squad player for that (4m) price. A couple of Liverpool fans on here are not impressed with the idea of signing him at all. So no consensus other than we see your wum and laugh... Yeah and if you take the penalties out of all the other strikers records Suarez would be 10 clear in most goals but no one does that....so irrelevant Some, of us said he was no worse than Etoo last season which is true...before that is....irrelevant. He's not remotely a donkey. That's just you wumming....the best striker in the world? Nope but then no one is suggesting that here either....He's got good technical ability, he's simply old....not every player is bought to start...You should know that, you have about 50 of them at your club all bought for more than 4 million quid...
Ideally i would have liked us to go for someone like Remy over Lambert, He's also strong in the air and a more than capable target man. My guess on why we are going for Lambert is that BR seems to have this obsession about going for players with the right attitude and a fighting mentality And Remy certainly doesn't fit that. Would he be happy sitting on the bench and playing the odd games, will he give a 100% when he comes on for the last 10 mins when we need a goal. And most importantly would he be happy missing out on the big games. Like i said though, Ideally we should be going for the best possible option, Aspas was lauded for his grit and steel, probably why we were so keen on him. he was still of no use. But I highly doubt Lambert would do an Aspas, his age is the only concern for me, hope he's got more left on his tank. It's his boyhood club, can see him playing at a 100% when ever called upon. And his scoring record is not shabby.
As long as other signings come in that improve our squad, then I'll take this. He is experienced, he won't be first choice, he is the sort of player you want in the box when someone is parking the bus against you, and £4m is ok, we might get 2 seasons out of him. Got to say though, this is not the calibre of signing I was expecting this summer, but I suppose whoever comes in in this position has to be happy to be back up. Not excited by this one. Have Spurs bid yet?
