I don't see the point in this deal at all, you have borini and surely you'll bring him back next season.
Obviously, I was taking the piss Lambert went missing He was on the bench Let's not be forgetting the fee involved, nor the wages eh?
I thought I read an article recently that Rodgers would sell him if the right deal came in. Lambert is probably going to get more goals than Borini too... Still- would have rathered someone else... but I'm assuming £4mill here means we have more money for other positions on the field instead.
You are comparing a player who has played for the majority of his career at the worlds biggest club with a player who has played most of theirs in lower leagues.
BBC reporting that Liverpool negotiating for Lovren and Lallana but the local radipo down here is suggesting that Saints have rejected the £4mill bid for Lambert As a Saints fan, I'm gutted as the soul of our team is being ripped apart. There is a fire sale despite reports that we don't need to sell for financial reasons. Well, our accounts this year were reporting a loss of circa £30 million on players plus a similar figure for the up-grading of the academy the cost of which spiralled out of control due to issues with ambiguities with the specification. Working as a quantity surveyor, it is quite well known on the south coast construction industry that there was a contractual dispute between the main contractor and the football club which resulted in the work being put into abeyance because of a problem ascertaining what had been agreed to be built. As far as Liverpool are concerned, when you beat us down st. mary' this season the best two players on the pitch were Suarez and Lallana. Lallana is world class - probably the most cultured midfielder in the country and head and shoulders above Jordan Henderson. Lambert is not as effectual as he has been in the past and has lost some pace yet his contribution to the squad is immense and will always pop up to score goals. Added to that, his free kicks have the same legendary status as Le Tissier's penalties down here. As for Lovren, he is our best central defender and, I would have thought , the least likely to join Liverpool even though Lallana is know to be extremely loyal to Pochettino and reluctant to more up north. Liverpool were a breath of fresh air last year after flattering to deceive for so long. Next season will be tougher for you and the league will be harder in 2014/5 and Man Utd are unlikely to be quite as weak as they have been this season. I think Lallana will improve your team but with Utd likely to improve as well, I think the axis of Chelsea / Man City/ Utd / Arsenal may present a great obstacle for your next year. As for Saints, I think we will be relegated if the reports of squad departures are accurate.
Hardly creaming ourselves is it Also a bit of irony in that comment since you're attempting to laugh at us potentially signing a 32 year old for £9m too!
I don't care how much you pay for him, I just think it's a **** signing for a top 4 side. That's why it's funny
Well I feel you you saints fans, if spurs had waited just a couple of weeks..... Well the press wod not be tearing you up Who knows.... Maybe lfc bid maybe not... We are hardly in for 4 saints players so well we will all have wait and see if lambert turns up prior to the trip to Miami It's a long way from anything being done so I think all saints fans need to not worry too much and hope the press run out of steam and move on the engerlund bashing You need a manager quick
Look at how many games each played last season and you'll see why it's not the slightest bit impressive.
Despite finishing second, we're a top six side ATM. SAS has zero back-up (well, Borini and Aspas so as I said, zero...) so a cheap deal for a proven player that loves the club? Gary Mac didn't do too bad for us and he had a poor rep when he joined us at the young age of 35.
Very sensible.... Eats can try his best but seeing his club play 8 defenders and e'tto and see thier very best player fall out with the god, lord and hy ghost of Chelsea and look to be on his way means nobody can take him laughing serious
