Maybe. Although you'd think they've been close to a footballer long enough to know they should check with him first.

I'm quite worried about what might happen, like anything else.

But what I'm saying is that if MP had signed a contract with us yesterday, and today the news came out that we had rejected bids for Shaw and Lallana but were allowing Lambert to leave, then I think a lot of people would view this in a more positive light-- that this would seem to be a fantastic move for Lambert and we wouldn't blame him for wanting to go and that maybe the club is just trying to do the right thing.

Of course MP *didn't* sign a contract with us yesterday. He left. That's putting all of us on edge, and understandably so. But there is really no more evidence IMO to reach a conclusion that KL is asset-stripping the club than there was yesterday.

If you're asking me what I think... I think we will lose more than just Lambert. I think it's definitely going to be a setback and it could be quite bad. But I''m not jumping to the conclusion that we're going to lose all of Lallana, Shaw, Lovren, and Schneiderlin (and at that point why not everyone else as well) yet.

Players are going to come and go. Lambert leaving to Liverpool is not inherently head-scratching to me. The most mysterious part would be why Liverpool would want him. If indeed it's a way to get out of the Lallana sell-on clause (which does seem plausible) that would be really bad. But I'll wait then and see what the total money we get is and if it gets reinvested.

This isn't a debate for me, where I'm trying to be right and prove others wrong. I don't know what's happening. It looks bad in some ways. Doesn't mean we are asset stripping. That's a whole other level. All we can do as supporters is try and stay calm, hope for the best, and let things play out.

Maybe, but you can understand why they would be keen to believe it.

It may happen yet I suppose. It's not the end of the world though in isolation is it?

It's not impossible that he has a clause in his contract specifically relating to bids from Liverpool. If you take the RK interviews at face value and accept that there will be no movements until a new manager is appointed then this would be the only explanation.

In isolation? Lallana and Lovren may also end up at Anfield. We are in real danger of getting picked apart.

    Yes.

No. Not in isolation. If it happens we'll see whether or not it stays in isolation. I suspect it won't.

We're obviously getting enough cash together to buy back Bale. We don't need 10 other good players - look at how well Spurs did in 2012-13! :)

Based on what exactly? Apart from anything else Liverpool can't afford all of them!

Apparently both the Lambert family posts are fake.

Oh ****ing hell, I thought I'd watch an episode of Bob's Burgers and see how the situation looks after, and it makes even less sense. Sky think it's basically done for £8m, BBC say £4m, some say talks are still ongoing, some say we've rejected an offer, and Rickie's family seem to be packing their bags!

Does not fit narrative! Clearly Lambert turned down Liverpool to stay at Saints, while Krueger prepares plans to force him out.

As you've seen a lot of him obviously do you think he'd fit in with our attack if he signs?

I can't comment for the Facebook post, but let me assure that his sister's was 100% genuine as I saw it and retweeted it myself.

Hard to imagine 2 close family members of a 32y professional footballer being so stupid.

No but he'd be mainly a sub to provide a different option if you need a goal or two.

You'd be better off getting Andy Carroll back.
