He did want to prove English players could match the rest of the world in technical ability lol... Would be interesting to see Hodgesons white shirted Liverpool vs Brendans red shirted Liverpool!!!!
4mil for a player proven in prem, will be 3rd choice and offer something different and is proven in prem wouldn't be terrible business. Would be reluctant to go over 5m though.
Glens annual wages are a quarter of this....wait! Maybe we won't be able to pay GJ and he'll go on strike!!!!!
This, I assume the 3 million add ons will be if he repeats his 10+ goals AND assists from last season.....
Lambert seems an odd choice, he won't fit in with our style of play. Unless we are signing him for those games when we can't unlock a defence so we need a battering ram
It would be a bloodbath. Rodgers would get double digit scores against Woy. Thanks for the vote of confidence- it would be nice... don't expect it- but I'm glad you respect our team so much.
Michael Stafford @SportStafford · 36m Seems the deal as I said Before, Rickie Lambert 9m, Lovren 20m, Lallana 2m (so bournemouth don't get the cut) Great marketing from #LFC. it's all part of a plan...cheer up lads. You really think FSG would pass 9million for a 32yearl old. Think he would be a great addition. The lads a proven goal scorer, a perfect SUPER sub or planB.
FFS You lot signed a 33 year old ETO(or is he older than that, never know with the Africans) on obscene wages as First choice. Lambert's a perfect planB, proven goalscorer for less than 4 million is good business.
They're saying on Saints board that Bristol Rovers has a similar clause regarding Lambert that Bournemouth have for Lallana- so transferring some of the fee from one to the other won't save soton any money.
southampton do some crappy deals don't they.. they sold the bale sell on fee for half nothing... perhaps the best thing is to force them into administration relegate them back to league one and then take all their players. then they can come back up better than ever...
Joint 13th in goal scoring last season with Gerrard. Joint 4th assists with Rooney. Lambert is a good player and I'd like him playing for us as our third pick striker. What I don't like is the price, but usually the early reports for things like this are well off bat. Confirmed 'done' deal by alot of people 'in the know', but no one's certain on the price. I think, as far as a first signing goes, this could be a very astute one. Only thing I disagree with alot of people on is that they say his experience will help. Well, actually, he's got **** all experience at a high level beyond his limited time in the PL. But I still like the lad. I think we'll still go out and buy another attacking option though to play out wide.
