Liverpool agree £9m bid for Rickie Lambert

Guarantee this wouldn't be nearly as big a deal as it is if we weren't all thinking Shaw, Lallana and more are off too. Rickie was our "safe option", but now he's possibly off we can't trust anyone to stay.

Absolutely. Sell one of the three, sure; life goes on. Sell all three and potentially others, even with purchases it's hard to imagine that squad morale is going to be terribly good.

 

Impossible. That doesn't fit the narrative. Quite obviously the board was dead set on selling Rickie and Cortese stopped it.

 

To be fair, if we sell Lambert and Shaw but keep Lallana - that wont be so bad, I mean RL is great but a large chunk of cash and an even larger chunk for an 18 yo left back...

If selling RL and Shaw means we keep Lallana then so be it.

I can understand emotions run high on here as we are mostly thinking the worst...but that may not happen.

 

Also does not fit narrative. We called up Man U and Liverpool offering to sell and they rejected us.

 

Nail on the head. Lallana and Rickie were everyones safe bets. Then Lallana got loads of attention and most people came round to the idea he could be off. But I've got to be honest I really didn't see Lambert off.

 

Actually Bristol Rovers have a sell-on clause on Rickie similar to Bournmouths. If there are irregularities in fixing the price on Rickie and Adam Bournmouth could take it to court. £2m for Rovers would certainly help their dire situation
