If it goes through, that is the only possible conclusion. But it still doesn't make sense to sell a prize asset before it goes in the shop window.

So either it's bollocks, or we're being asset stripped by idiots.

We didn't do so well last summer with our money, besides which Hernandez didn't come from a shop, still doesn't score as often as Lambert, and struggles to play up top on his own.

 

Are you under the impression that Lambert is going to score 23 goals next season? Because that's your first problem, right there.

- You can't find a buyer at the current price

So...

- You sell the players and pocket the income
- Re-list the club for a massive knock-down price and someone buys it

Or Lambert wants to end his career at Liverpool? The asset stripping talk crap needs to stop.

 

£9m would have been disappointing and very worrying in the grander scheme of things (If we can't keep Rickie - who can we keep?!), but would have been a good fee and would be entirely understandable for Rickie to jump at the chance to see out his last few years at his boyhood club... £4m would just be absolutely ****ing terrible.

Put it this way, if Lambert went, but we kept Lallana & Shaw, would you be happy?

Long term, I think I would. It's not great mind.

 

Or don't put it that way, because that's very unlikely.

 

I would have thought most of us would want to keep Lambert if the fee is £4M.

 

Aint happening.

 

I still think they'd handle it better than this. If this sale is confirmed the day after the Chairman makes a public statement offering, albeit tepid, reassurance, then the owners instantly lose all credibility.

Maybe I'm deluding myself. But I just can't believe this.

 

No disrespect to Lambert, as I like him and it may not be true, but I think anyone that is more interested in sorting out a transfer than preparing for a World Cup shouldn't be going.

Wouldn't be surprised if this went like the Keane to Liverpool transfer which turned in to a £7mill 6 month loan when we bought him back after he didn't fit in.
