They had an approach? The one memory that always sticks in my mind was the statement 'This is the one we have been after' when they brought Sonko in on loan just after Turner had been sold. My reply when I heard that was 'What in the living f...!!'.
Almost. Imo, Ozil was the worst. Well yes, a scatter gun approach which is not good at all. As for Sonko, that was as bad as asking OLM to help keep up Steve Evans trousers. (if you saw them @ wembley in lge 1 po final)
Thought that would please you. As for Evans running down the touchline - what an awful sight and with children present as well.
He should have run a bit further, then his trousers would have fallen round his ankles and he would fall flat on his face.
Bruce might still be on 'holiday'. Holiday for Steve Bruce will mean phoning managers, agents and players from the beach rather than his office. His holiday won't get in the way of anything at all, specially when there's such limited time with our season starting early and a World Cup occupying most the space between. No time to waste with holidays.
It's the classic rags-to-riches story: lower-division striker works his way up to become a top-level goalscorer and an England international, topping it off with lucrative twilight years sat on his arse.

Lamberts fee may be a way to reduce the Adam the Lama payout as the Saints have to pay 25% to his old club Figure fiddling maybe.
When the players jumped in a pile I was really dreading Evans jumping on top.....a case of football's first mass murderer?
The Beeb is reporting the fee as £4m plus add-ons, which makes sense from Liverpool's point of view. If their first-choice strikers stay fit and he doesn't play, then it's not a huge fee, and if they get injured and he scores goals, then they'll happily pay for the success. I think Soton will miss Lovren more than Lambert (but Lallana most of all, and Schneiderlin massively if he goes).
