What would you relish most, perhaps both, including a double over them? Is this achievable if Cotts is allowed to rebuild our squad with quality players and more strength in depth?
Winning the derbies is a more realistic possibility IMO. TBH I would be happy to take a point at their place as long as we win at home. As far as the playoffs are concerned - I'd be more over the moon than The Cow as it is far above my expectations for the season.
It would be dream come true, if Pompey reach the play off, double win over Sou*cough*on (sorry I got a cold! ) which also get relegated back to their old place! I say this is better than winning a lottery, me think!
Without using any punctuation to emphasise your (poor) attempt at sarcasm, you wrote a statement. Perhaps I can suggest revisiting primary school for help with your English skills?
you must be even more simple than i thought. do you take everything literally, or are you just trying to pick a fight.
Simple? = name calling Picking a fight? = I think you will find that you "started it" by posting drivel on the Pompey board. Do you want me to teach you anything else while you are over here? Ask away!
Great minds think alike Not overly worried on the player front, still over a week until pre season starts. If rumors are to be believed, we'll have Ben-Haim off the books soon, allowing us more flexibility in regards to wages for new players. By next Friday, I can see us bringing in Pearce, Varney, Howard and Halford at the very least
I would be over the moon with those 4, we will still need another striker in my opinion though - so no idea where he is going to come from! A cheeky bid for Tubbs from Crawley would be welcome from me though!
Could Tubbs cut it in this league though? I agree we'd need another goal scoring striker (we'd have Kanu, Kitson and Varney) though, I just don't know who we could get on the cheap. An inexpensive goal scoring striker is like gold dust
If we can get Tubbs for a cheeky £500,000 bid then I would be happy. He scored for fun last year - he proved at Old Trafford that he isn't scared and enjoys putting the ball in the net - and I believe thats what we need and its what Kitson lacks - Hunger! He will want to prove himself in the higher leagues, he is young and the step up could pay dividends. Ok, its a gamble, but what about Toddy, Whittingham etc - unproven and look what happened!
£500,000 for Crawley would be amazing for them too, it's an awful lot of money for; and I mean no disrespect here, a small club. He probably wouldn't want extortionate wages, and has a decent goal scoring record... It would be a good idea to give him a chance
My point exactly. And if he doesn't cut it in the Championship, then selling on for £200k in a years time to a league 1 or 2 club, it wouldnt be the worst business in the world. If SC gets these targets - the midfield writes itself, as does the defence - but i think we need another keeper (as we only have 1!) and another striker and I would be happy to see us have a cheeky bid for Tubbs.
Whatever makes you deluded people think you could afford £500,00 for a player? - You clearly not very good at reading the signs. Your local rag keeps telling you lot that many players (all available for nothing) are saying "come and get me". Don,t see much sign of anyone going and getting em, which tells you all you need to know. However, keep dreaming - it,s the oxygen of life!
