If we bring in - Lovren Moreno (I'd prefer Rodriguez from Benfica for the price touted) Can Lallana/Shaqiri Wouldn't be massively disappointed but would have expected slightly better quality.
Couldn't care less about marquee signings tbh, most of the expensive players brought into the English leagues have flopped or underachieved. I just want players who Rodgers thinks will improve the team. Of those four/five, Can is the only one who doesn't impress me much - but if he comes, hopefully he and Rodgers will prove me wrong.
They'll probably loan Shaw out for a couple of seasons. I wouldn't be surprised if Chelsea bought two or three players for each position in a transfer window.
16 million is ****ing ridiculous for a young player who's had just one decent season. Huge gamble and im not sure if he's going to offer anything more than Enrique. I'd rather have Rodridguez, be alot cheaper and looks the better player. we also have one of our own promising player in Brad Smith, lad's a real talent and the least he deserves is a full preseason and then see if we need to look elsewhere. He should have played alot more last season, he could definitely have not done any worse than Cissokho. Was really dissapointed with the way BR handled him. Threw him in the deep end against Chelsea and was never involved after that. The first person who needs to be replaced is Johnson. He was hands down the worst player for us last season. It's driving me nuts how we aren't linked to a ****ing RB. Is Rodgers seriously rating the chap or is he pretending to. The last thing he needs is a new contract, he's only going to get worse.
I'm with you on Ricardo Rodriguez, but Moreno has pretty good experience for such a young lad. It's better than spending £27m on Shaw, and it's the same as spending £20m on Lallana who has only had one good season. £16m for a highly rated youngster, with experience playing for a decent club on big stages (won the Europa league last season) is decent in this day and age.
Well if we get a quality LB we will also have Enrique. RB would then be covered by flanno, wisdom,Kelly, Johnson. Also if we sign Can he plays LB if required.
prob lend shaw back to southampton to offset a part of the fee.. say oh i duuno 25mil to get him then lend him back at 2mil a year
