From us, sponsors, tv and Katharina...but the point I was making is that they have to pay for dreams. I can sit here saying I want to be in Champions' League....does that mean I have more ambitions than the board. Quite a lot of fans seem to think they are being robbed of something...there is no proof we would have got in the CL (Cortese or not).
No, that's true. I don't think many fans really believed we were going to be imminently pushing for the top four though. At the end of the day, if the club is allowed to operate independently, and reinvest the money it brings in to enhance the squad, there is no reason we shouldn't be pushing for European places soon, however. The vast majority of the club's money comes from fans, either directly or indirectly, so it's perfectly fair for the fans to expect that money is used to further the club's position.
I couldn't agree more Fran, hence my last comment about getting a manager who excites and has us playing to our potential rather than someone with completely unrealistic expectations. Some thing that surprised me in NCs interview was that he implied that he didn't know what MP was going to do as they hadn't spoken, but the papers said they were friends, so either he was lying or maybe they have fallen out
Perhaps neither a lie nor a falling out...we all have 'friends' at work...but then after knowing them for years, we move on...because the only thing we have in common is work. I doubt that MP and Nicola have much in common...one is football through and through and one is a businessman. Once Nicola had left Saints behind him, I doubt he had any interest in the game.
His jobs before had been to do with sport, and considering he's Italian I imagine football has been a big part of both his work life and free time. Judging from his recent interview it seems there's a good chance we haven't seen the last of him.
Seems like at least some of the players are following the brief: http://www1.skysports.com/football/...er-steven-davis-rues-mauricio-pochettino-exit Can always rely on Steven Davis
Good stuff from Stevie Davis. My player of the season last year (just to be different), and always speaks well.
