Not played for Hull FC for 2 weeks now. Officially on sick leave with stress related illness.

WTF is the matter with these people nowadays. My grandparents would be turning in thier graves over the lack of spine in some people in this country nowadays.

Agree with TWF too, and on the expected bit too. That's a sad indictment of society not just Hull, that people think mental illness is basically a work dodgers scam.

 

Stress related! where did I say it was mental illness. There is a big difference.
I may no more about Mental illness than you think but it is to be expected that you think that all society (your words) thinks this way.

Not saying he is a work dodger at all. As i dont know the circumstances I now believe my initial statement was wrong. However after knowing people who have had to carry on through times of great hardship it bugs me when those in easier finacial brackets feel they are having such a hard time.

e18, I agree it's all about perspective, and stress is used a lot to describe all sorts of things.

What niggles me is the type of view that states in the olden days, people would have just got on with it. Were things really better back then? Shooting people for cowardice in WW1? Locking women up with loose morals? Etc etc.

Ok he might just be a bit under the weather, it might be just an excuse to cover something else up, but equally he could be suffering with something else quite a lot nastier. We don't know do we?
