A week from now, Garcia's contract will expire. He was only offered a one year deal and he's now going to be out for half that year. Do we expect he'll still be offered a new deal? I suspect not.
Yeah, despite feeling some sympathy for him, as he worked hard, I suspect you'll be right on that one. PS - sent you a PM
I could be wrong but I thought i'd heard he was going to be on a month to month rolling contract?? Personally i think we should keep him on, he's been a good servant and we should show some loyalty towards him, granted he's not the most talented player in the world but he is a good player at this level and can make an impact on our team when fit.
I understood that although Richard would not be offered a new contract the Club would look after his medical treatment and review the situation in about 6 months time. I thought this was a generous offer and a reward for Richard's previous service to the Club. Should the Club not offer Richard a new contract there are a number of Australian A-League Clubs prepared to put an offer on the table.
No Deal, he had the chance to extend his contract and did not take it up. Some you win some you lose, looks like Richard has lost this one !
Tough one to call. Never been a fan of Garcia. Seems a decent fella though. I wanted rid of him after the first Premiership season, then he got injured in China in pre season. Probably typical a decent bloke tries to play it canny by stalling on a deal and this happens to him. Ye sod it deal, I think it wouls send out the wrong message about how we treat our players if we dont.
I don't think it says anything about the club either way, we offered him a one year deal, he didn't agree(presumably because he wanted to see if he could get a better offer) and it ended up costing him as he's now out for half the year.
To be fair to Richard he made himself avaiable whilst still injured and paid the price; a lot of players would have not played (perhaps wisely) but it shows his attitude is spot on. but as said, there are no sentiments in this game & at least the club is taking care of his physical recovery.
Dunno why? Anyway, I asked you just how many followers there are for this board (posters/readers)....looked at the Forest board and they've only done about 7 pages! I do realise it might not be possible to quantify, so the answer might be: 'a helluva lot' Edit: No - that ain't right (7 pages!)
I've no idea and I don't think there's any way to check posters by club, but I'd guess we have 100-150 posters and quite a few spectators.
Still think Garcia will have a roll at the club if he recovers by the new year. Think they will pay his medical expenses and a small wage so as to keep his registration.
This is what they should do. He's far too good a player to be dumped because of this. As far the number of posters. There's 80 that have given their age on Febbos' thread, so it's just working out how many posters haven't contributed to that. Maybe a further 20-50?
Don't think he's posted on that article at all, clearly it doesn't interested him. It is off topic after all. He's not the only one though, there's a few notable exclusions. Everyone knows he's a student so his age is hardly a secret.
