Random question.. What's the most consecutive 1-2's? I've tried looking at obvious seasons but only found 5 in a row tops. Could Mercedes get the most ever at Canada?

This is a 'Lewis' track so defeat here for him would be crushing. I just get the sense that the Rosberg side of the garage are sensing Hamilton's blood. Vital he gets the win and I think he will.

    1st Hamilton
    2nd Rosberg
    3rd Alonso

Most consecutive is 5 by Ferrari in 2002 and 1952.

Gearing shouldn't be a problem in reaching that sort of speed for at least the Mercedes powered cars and Toro Rosso:

no i think that would have happened in the race in monaco.he actually drove well in monaco, didnt do anything stupid like in 2011.he seemed calm in his bbc interview after the race.he got mad because he believed he was cheated, which is understandable.many of us have lost are cool, when we believed we'd been wronged.nico will be strong in canada, but i expect lewis to be stronger.hope the redbulls are closer.

Also found this, would have been wonderful for Schumacher to appear at some races, and have his verdict on the title race.

I think Ferrari will be second fastest, and certainly closer to Mercedes. The team seem to be quite confident about the power unit update (and there are rumours of 30hp gain), and traction was good in Monaco (how much that was down to the team and how much the softer tyres I don't know, but it doesn't really matter because Pirelli are bringing the same tyre compounds to Canada). Mercedes are too far ahead, but if they take each other out I think Alonso will be there to take advantage and not Ricciardo.

Dunno, Ferrari have been behind Red Bull for most of the year. Will be surprised if there is any change in the pecking order at all.

Renault have also been allowing the teams to turn their engines up a bit more, so would expect them to also be having some power gains and lets be honest, Ferrari's engine bullshit since the start of the year has been pretty bad, so why should we now believe them that they are getting more power from an engine that was supposed to be the best to start off with!?

I heard an interview with Rosberg where he was saying that they fall-out on a somewhat regular basis, but always make up in the end.

Hopefully the bickering is done and they can get on with doing their talking on-track. I think most people are bored of this "rivalry" lark.

Cue the media being desperately disappointed that the rivalry might cool down at least in the short term.

Nah, it just means they can write a load of "Hamilton and Rosberg - The Best of Enemies?" style articles where they highlight all the times an incident could have possibly caused a strain on their friendship, whether it did or not.
