We've discussed this before, the draw of the EPL product is it's competitive nature. What you're suggesting will never get through the PL voting system. Incidentally the figures here are absolute horse **** as you were just on the box more than anyone else, not necessarily the biggest draw per se
i do agree that its highly unlikely exactly on the route you discussed and i think you said yourself a further breakaway group would be required to break the 13 clubs needing to vote in favor rule. However I still firmly believe whats best for LFc is whats best for LFc and it would be best that we negotiate our own rights. I am not going to argue in favor of the numbers one iota, I've no idea what they based them on but i would say that the decision makers to put LFC on the TV more based it on two factors, first and most important in the latter part of the year is performance but the second part is LFC do have a big draw. The base early season tv fixtures are loaded to the bigger clubs.
Whilst clubs negotiating their own deals would be beneficial to Liverpool, the PL as a competition would deteriorate as the big clubs get richer, and the small clubs becoming poorer. You then end up with a similar scenario in La Liga where bar the top 3 teams, the rest are pretty average.
If i offer an even more "controversial" view. Fulham took 63mil and these figures which i don't believe state they took an extra 30 off mil due to the sharing process. Honestly... I truly believe that the bottom clubs do take quite a bit of money which inflates their wages and it really doesn't deliver a standard really, it gives a reasonably good standard but compared to spain where the bottom clubs are basically swinging in the wind when it comes to tv money I would have to wonder if the extra moeny is actually delivering anything bar richer more spoiled players and agents. Aspas wandered into english football on 20-30k per week which is prob good money at celta vigo... he was rubbish but we see 20 like him at the lower clubs and the wages are going nuts. I just would rather see the top 6 have really top players and just win everything and compete in europe far better than see this glut of money in the lower reaches of the table where the only ambition is to keep the money flowing. In fact i'll go so far as to say that in england today the prevailing attitudes of 4th is all that matters and survival is all that matters will keep delivering bad european performances then i am afraid that in a few years italy might be knocking on the door taking the 4th place they lost to germany off us.
IMO the rest are already very average and i see any time a spanish club gets an english club in the europa they are likely to win well. I think our league is behind spain at least competitive with if not better than (in depth than germany and ahead of italy. If you said to me that england could go the way of italy then fine i'd be worried
''Brendan Rodgers' side collected £97.5m in television money last season, the most in the Premier League, but they would have been in line for £172.3m if the distribution was based on the number of TV viewers - a difference of £74.8m.'' That's two Andy Carroll's right there
If world wide TV audiences are taken into account their is only 1 team who are considered the big draw and its not Liverpool. We can ignore the fact the viewers probably fell asleep during the games....
Are you in the top 6? Does one season in the top 6 make you a member? Everton once finished in the top 4 and so did spurs......are they top 4?
so we are a team who once finished in the top 4 now are we that we get compared to ****e lol. go back to your mid table clubs board
According to the mighty respectable eurosport yes. according to reality, no. Oh and about now someone points out the figures are flawed as it doesnt take into account homes with more than one TV set.......
