Moyes was on a 6 year deal at OT, means **** all if he fails to impress next season.

Not a chance, he'll be Rodgers successor at Liverpool.

Really interesting appointment. Spurs have massively underachieved for several seasons, having spent so much money. I mean, I don't care that they got £86 million for one player, if Newcastle ever spend £100 million on players (not f***ing likely), I'd expect our league position to improve!

For me, the job is, on paper, a fairly easy one because of the past failures. Really, the way they've spent, they should be challenging for titles, but if Poch guides they to 3rd/4th, he'll be a hero. Still, it's a decent test. He's seemingly done a really good job at Southampton, so let's see what he's made of in a new job.

But that also depends on fan's expectations and how much that is set by the Chairman and the board at Spurs. Personally, I think the hierarchy at the club is the problem. They seem to be more fickle than the fans or at the very least seem to have their views dictated by them. So what happens when/if Pochetino doesn't get them 3rd/4th next season that is the real question. Will he be given time, what exactly are the spurs faithful expecting from him? Don't get me wrong, I totally understand the fact that they have had season after season of being on the brink of greatness, only for them to take two steps back and have to start again. But who's fault is that, and why aren't they protesting outside the gates of WHL with banners of Levy Out?

But even if they were(which in the end they weren't)Everton or Spurs would have finished top 4 because utd finished were they deserved, the final table never lies matth.
Utd finished 20 points behind us but even more behind City, they were miles behind Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs and Everton.

You'll find its a long road back to the top without Fergie.

Arsenal deserved top four. Can see Arsenal and United finishing above Liverpool, especially if Suarez does further damage to his knee in the World Cup.

Studger, Gerrard and Raheem will be knack'd by February after the summer and CL too.

Teams will know how to play Liverpool next season and also know their temperament is suspect under pressure

I doubt it, Moyes was never good enough, Gaal is good enough, with the right signings.
Pressure will be on Liverpool more than ever now, so can the players and manager handle it?

I suspect the fact the club spends so heavily every transfer window might have something to do with it. Let's face it, if a chairman sanctions mega spending, fans won't consider him the problem.

I guess so although I can't help thinking that losing your best players for the best part of 8-10 years e.g. Carrick, Berbatov, Modric and then Bale with the millions that have come in, kind of cancels out the spending. If I was a spurs fans, I'd be thinking what exactly Levy does for us apart from play hardball in securing maximum profits on player sales? I see nothing else in him to even suggest he's moved the club forward at all.
