Dynamo Kiev president Igor Surkis claims his club are discussing a deal for Tottenham midfielder Niko Kranjcar. Spurs are prepared to offload the Croatia international this summer after seeing him slip down the White Hart Lane pecking order. Kranjcar has aired his frustration at a lack of first-team activity on numerous occasions and is pushing for an exit. Atletico Madrid and Wolfsburg are reported to have expressed an interest in his services, but no deal has been done as yet. That has left the door open for Kiev to make their move, with the Ukrainian giants determined to secure a big-name signing after missing out on a number of other top targets. Proposal They have already sounded out Kranjcar's agent and hope a meeting can now be set up with Spurs. "We are negotiating for Kranjcar," said Surkis. "We still have to meet him and Tottenham, but he is in our transfer plans. "We have already missed out on several players - not because we aren't able to meet the demands of their clubs but because not everyone wants to come to the Ukrainian league. "If Kranjcar thinks over our proposal, searches his soul and wants to come here, then we will buy him with pleasure." http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_6998154,00.html ------ Glad that he's not speaking to any English clubs and whilst he's been a good player or the club it's probably wise to let him leave this summer.
Unless he has some sort of reconciliation with Redknapp, he should go. We should still get decent money for him and he's yet to peak, in all probability.
Levy is gonna demand too much I bet ... AGAIN! He rarely gets in our first team, but has good quality and is at a peak age though. Somwhere in the region of 7-12 million would be a good price for me.
Been said before, that VdV, Bale, and Modric all play in that area of the pitch, these 3 can't play all the time, so if he's not prepared to play second fiddle to that lot, as has been suggested, and he's not prepared to be versatile and play on the right, as has been suggested, woolly hat time Niko.
Class player. Love watching him play as he makes it look so simple when he is in form. The goal against Sunderland was stunning. If he does go to Kiev i can see him making a good impact for them and also in the CL he might finally get his chance to shine in that competition.
Can see why you thought that was a dig, but no Nicko has never actually got a proper chance to play in the CL. I am pretty sure he did not start for Spurs in the CL last season and also played i think 1 game or something with Dinamo Zagreb in the CL.
I don't think that he's reluctant to play on the right, just unable to do it effectively. It's a shame that he wasn't given more chances to play in van der Vaart's role, in my opinion. It would have been interesting to see Bale used at left-back for a game or two, just to see Kranjcar, Modric and the Dutchman all playing in the same side.
The guy sets up and scores goals. he should be rotated with VdV. He scores for fun when playing for Croatia or the few times he's started for us. We scour the planet looking for good players at a decent price but when we do get one, we can't wait to get rid. And yet, we want to keep Crouch and Defoe. If Harry had used his squad more wisely, they wouldn't have got quite so knackered by the end of the season and they probably would have got a few goals out of this boy. And those goals may have been the difference between 5th and 4th
Back in January a fee of around £6.5m was being mentioned by various sources, which is a fair price - and a tidy profit of £4m. On one hand he's a player I'd rather we kept, not least because he'd be useful when the inevitible injury crisis happens, but on the other hand he wants to get regular football and Kiev are a club where he'll do very well.
It's a real shame to see him go, he's a great player and I wish we could keep him He was an absolute steal at £2.5 mill as well. Someone who could have played the VdV position very well for us I feel. I just hope he doesn't go to a Prem club and come back to bite us.
Actually scratch the last, I reckon (somewhat controversially) that if he had been given the chances in the team that VdV had, in the same position, he would have been as good. He is a proper player and a class act. I'd rather have him in the team than Peinaar any day.
