McLaren would be my safe pair of hands choice but Yakin would be my more exciting option

I'd really rather not McClaren. Good at Derby and Twente, think his time at Boro wasn't as good as most people do and he was awful at Wolfsburg and Forest.

I'd worry about youngsters being given a chance with him.

I'm expecting someone out of left field, I mean, who expected Pards, Nige or Poch before they were appointed?

Not sure we are attractive to Benitez.

I think his time at Boro was very poor. Clouded by a league cup win (ok that is good) and then two exciting European games that they game back from the dead. These games were about a month after fan ran and threw their season ticket at him.

He does appear to be doing a great job at Derby, but it is early days.

Apart from watching them on the odd occasion against English teams in the CL, I simply don't know enough about Basel and Yakin to be able to comment on him. But a fair amount of people seem to be backing him, and it's seem like he is interested, so I'm open-minded and willing enough to give him a chance.

Not sure I have a favourite to be honest. I'd just rather we avoided Poyet, Howe, Hughton, Sherwood, and Lennon (of the names mentioned).

Jorge Sampaoli, Thomas Tuchel, Paco Jemez (6 million release clause, I think), Murat Yakin, Quique Flores all available.

Long shots would be Rafa Benitez or Frank De Boer.

If it's Lennon, Mackay or the like I would be very disappointed.

If by "available" you mean "alive". Sampaoli would be a dream but right now he's managing Chile. Tuchel unfortunately wants a year out.

Wouldn't it be funny if we got someone who had turned Spurs down and the suggestion is that there were a few.

I'm going to throw this out there and say De Boer.

Doubt we have a chance, but certainly would make people sit up and take notice.

Please not Sherwood though...he showed no class during interviews...we would have to get the sainted David :emoticon-0115-inlov back to interpret for him. Oh....

Sampaoli has already stated his intention to get back into club management after World Cup and has been taking Italian and English lesson. Tuchel has said he is looking to take a year out but I'm sure that would depend on what offers he gets. It has also been stated that if he takes a job in the next year then a fee would have to be paid to Mainz.

If we can offer De Boer an interesting project then you have to fear what Tottenham have plans for.
