This has been on the cards for so long now that I am ready to move on straight away and am looking forward to a swift appointment of a new higher profile Head Coach who can quickly get hold of our squad and reassure them of their futures & remind them that they are going nowhere in a hurry. Also to put forward his ideas to Les Reed as to who he wants brought in to strengthen our position to make sure we beat those North London Bar Stewards next season. Onwards and upwards!
After accepting days ago that Poch was leaving, and musing as to where that leaves us ambition wise etc on another Poch thread, I've now got that slightly excited feeling in expectation of the new manager.
I ****ing hate clubs like spurs who think they can just buy who they want. They have no ****ing imagination. If we had finished eighth last season with Adkins in charge would they be after him, no. A foreign coach proven in English football fits their agenda. Well I hope it's an CAN all over again.
Sorry to see Potch go but better now than closer to the start of the news season. Who knows why he left. If rumours are to be believed it's not for the money. Perhaps it's for an early entry into European football next season? More worryingly maybe he's got more of an insight into players sales and isn't convinced by our commitment to next season. Personally, and this is just an idea, no proof, but I can't help feeling that the writing was on the wall, or at least penciled in, when Cortese left and we should be thanking Potch for showing the professionalism in staying to the season end instead of going sooner. This (the coming weeks) is where we're really going to see the calibre of the the board and the owners commitment to the club. All the press reports are about the club being take apart, I want to hear what's being done to build it up.
New Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino must be given time to build a top-four side, says Jamie Redknapp (top four Side )joker like your dad Sky Sports on tweeter
Spurs were our rivals this year. Next season its more likely to be villa, Swansea and WBA. Who the **** are we going to sign with no manager? Oh hang on we might get Steve McLaren- whoopdy ****ing do. At this rate mid table is the best we can hope for. Happy to be proved wrong.
What is evident is that people didn't seem to be falling over themselves to take this job...or at least, people they would be interested in. Makes you wonder.
Re #170 Ha, like that will happen. I do wish him success but I'm not sure how easy if will be for him to win over the players that alone the fans!
Fran , I am the worlds worst for negative thoughts , but come on . We know NOTHING yet !!!! Have a nice drink and chillax , that's an order !!!
Sorry, but I really hope he fails there. He's used us as a stepping stone, waited for the big clubs to come calling, and ****ed off at the first opportunity, after stringing us along for a few weeks/months as we try to prepare for our future. Yeah, thanks alot Poch.
Wish I were that optimistic. I've seen nothing so far to suggest that there is ambition for anything more than surviving in the PL. Low input low output. And lots of BS marketing to make as much money as we can.
Think you missed the memo...we have all moved on and are being positive and excited about a new manager. Joking aside...losing a manager who has only just been here for long enough for us to learn to spell his name is not cause for complete meltdown. We are in good financial health, we are good enough to attract a decent manager, the team will all be here at start of preseason (minus 1-2 and plus 3-4),
