It says three year contract on the beeb news, hope the first thing he does is says no to Rio Ferdinand, who is being linked with us

He's not our manager, by the way, he's our Head Coach. That's what Levy's statement says, anyway.
Doesn't sound like Baldini's going anywhere, though he was spotted heading to Barcelona earlier today.

The real difference being?

Rio and Cole for our defence. Barry for our midfield and Sidwell as an impact sub (he has goals). Think positively Tots!

Like always, judge a manager on what he does for us but often we look at their previous jobs to see what hes capable of. Bottom of the table in Spain, top 8 in England. Doesn't mean a great deal as Jurgen Klopp relegated Mainz in Germany, yet hes now one of the best managers in Europe.

We will soon find out if he's a good fit, but I won't lie, my initial impression and thoughts are he isn't and not the type of manager we need but I hope to be proved wrong <cheers>

Bottom of the Spanish league only after the club sold the best players , before that he was brilliant .

Still hope he fails , has led us a merry dance the last few weeks it would appear !

Getting the Messi and Iniesta business done early. <applause>

You all know my feelings on this appointment but no I suppose I have to give Poch the benefit of the doubt, a bloody big doubt. However, Levy has now consolidated his position at the top of the league, the ****y League for toss bollock Chairman. For a few months he was under threat by Vincent Tan and the Fulham chairman (forgotten his name) but Levy has seriously out-****ied all of them now.

Where is the wise old sage HAIG? I guess when he heard Levy was talking to Poch he needed a taxi to the cock clinic but now he's appointed him on a 5 YEAR CONTRACT, YES FIVE YEAR ****ING CONTRACT, the cock clinic may not be able to help. A best he'll be in a queue behind numerous chavs, goons and mousers.

When was the last time a Spurs manager lasted 5 years? Sir Bill? Not in Levy's time that's a dead cert. Lucky I'm off to Africa next month otherwise I'd be thinking about becoming the greatest **** kicker of all time.

"Lucky I'm off to Africa next month"

Give our regards to Wenger when you bump into him.

<six African kids for a million quid>

He wasn't "brilliant". don't pretend you followed his career before he took over (as I know you never). He done a decent job in Spain before he ended up getting sacked as he left them bottom. If they stuck with him then chances are they would have been relegated so the new coach didn't have a problem with the squad in place.

He is still an unknown quantity as a manager and certainty not proven, but he has decided to move to a bigger club to test his ability. We will soon find out if he is capable enough to manage at a higher level.

You've bagged yourself a great manager. Although I bloody hope he doesn't, he'll do a great job at Spurs.

Cheers R&W--and apologies, especially if it turns out to hurt both clubs.

I've said I've liked him more than the other candidates, but no one knows what will happen. The questions will be whether he is the right man for the club, and whether we have the patience to find out.

Having to work with a Director of Football! <laugh>

His coaching staff have joined him. Wonder what that means for those that are already there?

Tbf seeing the back of Freund, Sir Les, Chris Ramsey etc is one thing i'm happy about.

For years our coaching set up has been a cosy little setup of ex pro's who don't actually contribute much.

Whilst he's not the most inspiring choice for most of us, his style of football is better than we've seen at the Lane for a couple of seasons.

I say give him a chance and hopefully levy gives him time.

Fair comment , only going on info we got when he became our manager ok ?

Am pretty certain there was a sale of the best players though .

Managers coach too.

There is no difference in reality!!

Manahers usually have coaches run training etc.

Coaches run training.

SAF was a manager but he didn't get involved much with training the squad day to day.

MoPo is a coach so will be more involved with training and probably less involved with signing players than a manager would be.
