Don't know a lot about him but people on here who more know more than I do think it's an ideal replacement
yakin quote doesn't sound like someone who has been contacted to me. (except by the press) any examples of similar quotes from eventual appointments?
Resignation is the best the Board could do. You can't stop a guy from resigning a post, but by him doing so he's the one not honoring the contract so that means Saints will have negotiated a buyout fee and/or other promises (like an agreement not to poach players). Yes, it is all very corporate speak but what do you expect? Read between the lines and it's definitely saying "We're not happy with MP."
No doubt it will be full of saccharine platitudes. If he dares to question the club's ambition in it he should be sued.
I agree...he shouldn't try and excuse himself. It should just be along the lines of a challenge he couldn't turn down.
I'm sure it was part of the negotiation to allow him to leave that he won't say anything about the board. Besides, he got what he wanted, so it would be a tremendous dick move on his part.
Knew it was coming so I didn't think I'd feel as deflated as I do now. Really fear for what happens next. The appointment of a suitable manager fairly rapidly will allay my fears somewhat. Would be great if we finished above Spurs next season!!
On the plus side when Spurs come to St Mary's next season we can sing "you sound like a coffee, sound like a cooofffeeee, you sound like a coffee".
Don't suppose he will do that, only big-up the opportunity at Spurs. The Guardian thinks that we have been in discussions with Spurs for a while. Let's hope that they have someone in the wings already.
Apparently managers don't need permission baa, but I beg to disagree, always needed it far as I'm concerned
Shame the other guys have gone too. Jesus Perez, D'Agostino and Toni Jimenez. I wish them all well, but I don't see it working out long term.
