theory 1: tottenham are percieved to be on the slide and likely to continue the mistakes which hold them back. nobody considered that lewis might now back them to challenge the top 4.

    I still don't think he/they will.

Very much a template reply, but hey, what else can they say?

Still, maybe the lack of a "thank you" shows Cortese wasn't the bitchy one at the club - at least we thanked Nigel :)

Really important to keep the players happy now. I hope Krueger's on the phone to Shaw and Lallana as we speak assuring them that there is a plan in place.

I think NC going hurt MP more than he made out. Saw out the season, was always going to go.

It sounds sincere, but lacking substance.

    Vital IMHO .

If Shaw and Adam go , disappointing .

If MP gets players , then IMHO the owner / Board are NOT interested , despite saying the right things .

    We will see though .

We had something to thank Nigel for....two promotions. Mauricio basically gave us one enjoyable season, then buggered off. May be understandable, but hardly honourable...doesn't deserve a thanks. Only the players who got in the England squad owe him anything.

I don't see why Krueger should thank Pochettino. If we sacked him it would be a different matter. Pochettino has made his choice, he chose to leave so why should he say thanks for leaving us?

if negativelyminded you could take from it that they aren't near to deciding on a replacement despite the writing being on the wall for some time.

i'm open to all interpretations at the moment. the board are a featureless blank slab to me.

Nobody's saying he should, but it's standard practice to thank an outgoing manager for their service isn't it? The lack of one is notable.

Bit surprised he resigned to force it through. Disappointing that.

Do we really want someone as our manager who thinks going to Tottenham is a good career move? That just shows very poor judgement.

How else would it have happened?

First Osvaldo, now this? The guy's a loose cannon.

And if he succeeds at spurs they will be the next stepping stone.

I would have assured the fans that we will hold on to our assets. The only thing he said was that we have a great academy - well, the academy may well be their get out clause for a lack of ambition.

They approach Saints, and we give him permission to speak to Spurs. What could be inferred from the reports in the last few days, is that he met Spurs without getting that permission. Who knows though.
