You may have a point, plus we have Borini to come back and I think he's less likely to sulk if he doesn't get his way.
hmmm maybe. I think borini worked hard at sunderland which is in his favour as he wasn't exactly getting what he needed at the start of the year and now he's nowhere for italy as a result but he didn't complain too much. He might work but i also feel there is a discussion in the offing between manager and player that could result in a move if it looks like borini is no more than a bench warmer. I think the boy would take a left side slot no question but would head to italy in a heart beat if he hears 4-1-2-1 is whats going to be the way forward. I do think it'll be amicable and so let lfc get the best price though..... Remy would worry me as i can't see him accepting anything but first team and so i think he'd go to arsenal quicker than us... giroud as competition??? I'd fancy myself if i were him there.
http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footb...rpool-transfer-rumours-crystal-palace-3611816 Quick and direct, but I'd prefer us to go for Dwight Gayle. He IS a Liverpool-type player, imho.
Remy would be a good back up option and relatively cheap. No thanks to Bolasie - we can do so much better now.
i'd agree but if there is a release clause? in the end the player might like being the big fish... you know all about small fish tanks like qpr yeah
Remy? So I see we're still being linked with dross that a team aspiring for Europa League ought to be looking at, not a title challenging side now in the CL
Am getting a bit concerned that we're not prioritising a world class RB. Perhaps they see GJ staying, Enrique being ready and Flanners and either Kelly & Wisdom as cover as enough. Appreciate that it's all smoke and mirrors right now plus the agents will be marketing their players accordingly or waiting for them to show in the 'greatest show on earth'.......but still, there's no smoke without fire and the fire's tend to be in all other positions! Whatever net value we have to spend, I'd like to see it split up like this: Defence: 40% Midfield: 40% Attack: 20% So if we have, say £80m after player sales, that's be £32m in defence & attack plus £16m in attack. 5 Players maybe?
Can't argue with that. I do seem to think Rodgers rates Johnson, he was a complete liability last season but wasn't really dropped once, ok there was a lack of personnel but even Cissokho was in better form than him. I just can't see us signing another CB either, purely because we brought 3 in last Summer, and again, we seem to be linked with LB's as opposed to RB? Agree fully with Midfield too, Lucas is what, 27 now? Gerrard 34 this year.. That leaves us with Allen and Henderson, need a world class CM in the Pogba mould. As for attack, I wouldn't complain too much if it stayed how it is (with Suso and Borini coming back), but if the right deal can be done e.g. Shaqiri, Pedro, Sanchez etc. I'm all for it.
how many world class Rbs are there? my perosanl preference on spend would be: defence 20% midfield 40% attack 40% i truely beleive that defenders grow with experience so spending a massive amount on a defender is silly. we have defenders, grow them. thats rodgers job. we know we need 2 full backs. after that sell to buy. I really beleive we need a top midfielder and a top striker in... and those cost 20+mil... if we have 60mil 40% = 24mil say. thats one forward these days. we had moses and aspas on the bench. we cannot do this next year so we cannot spend 12mil which is 205 that would be a nightmare to me. Equally 12mil for two full backs would be a bit of an ask too... but i feel you can find very good talent out there to develop for 5-6 mil no question
Also makes sense.....and there aren't many world class FB's that fit BR's philosophy tbh....which would explain our interest in cashly. Hope we have more than £60m net spend tbh. I'm not averse to buying talent to develop, we should also do that but then I'd split the budget separately for that. Buying a few more Sterlings at the right age is a must as is developing them.
I like that we have a large British contingent in our first team. I think this really does help the dynamic of the dressing room and spirit of the club. I'd love to see Lallana come in as he's a good player and would also help in this area. However, Southampton are looking for silly money for him, so we'll probably go for a cheaper foreign import.
