Agreed, though I don't think anyone has a clue on this as yet. Yes please Yakin.

No, I'm not liking that. Then again, surely they can only be completely guessing until we're actually managerless. All they can probably go by is who has been linked to PL jobs in the recent past, whose contracts wouldn't be expensive to buy out, etc. That'll be why only Paddy Power and BetVictor (the madder ones) have even opened betting.

I can't find anything to suggest Tuchel is going anywhere else, though perhaps he is actually taking a year out of football for whatever reason.

What were the odds on Pochettino taking over when Adkins was sacked, anyone?

The reason is probably he's getting paid to do it!

    http://www1.skysports.com/football/...ree-settlement-with-former-boss-thomas-tuchel

"Tuchel will no longer be paid by the club, who have already appointed Kasper Hjulmand as his replacement, but he is not free to take on any other job without first seeking Mainz's permission."

It's a weird scenario but it sounds like if he wants a year out he won't be making any money. It does go on to say he wants a year out though.

There weren't, it was announced straight away. The club announced it via Twitter, saying:

"Southampton Football Club has appointed Mauricio Pochettino as First Team Manager having relieved Nigel Adkins of his duties. #saintsfc"

All the bookmakers do is employ odds compilers to frame the market, then respond when the money comes. Betfair is a better guide as there is no bookmaker, only punters, so it's purely the weight of money that dictates the price. Yakin has been favourite on there for a few days, since his name first appeared in the betting. He shortened up overnight with Betvictor, from 12/1 to 7/1, presumably in response to a some money coming for him (it wouldn't take much in this sort of market).

Incidentally, second fav on BF is Neil Lennon. Can't say I'm too thrilled, but then we do have a decent record with ginger Scotsmen (I know he's Irish, but he's been in Scotland for a while).

I'd be content with Lennon, though I'm not even sure what brand of football he'd deploy. At Celtic he can basically just go all-out attack every game, and in the Champions League he largely has to play on the counter. He does know Wanyama well, which could be a positive.

We knew Adkins was gone before the announcement though. Some bookies must have had odds on the next manager.

    Yes, Balague tweeted it earlier.
