....was man of the match yesterday in the game between Hamilton Academicals and Hibernian wich saw the Hibbies relegated and the Accies return to the top flight for the first time in years. Jack legend Jason Scotland scored the opener and then made the second which took the play off all the way to penalties. He then cooly slotted the decisive penalty. What a ****ing legend! The money we sold Scotland and Martinez to Wigan for was as important as any money we ever recieved imo , seemed like winning the lottery at the time ... both were legends
Great thread,Terror,I was going to post a similar one. "Legend's",indeed they are, breezy, although there are some here who will cavil that.
Scotland was a goal machine at that level! Unbelievable ability to turn his man and a ferocious shot off both sides. A huge player in our history and one I was very sad to see leave at the time - especially as he wasted away at Wigan.
I loved Jase the Ace. He drifted in and out of games but his job was to score goals and by god he did that didn't he? The criticism he got from some just reflects the crazies we have as fans.
Yea jase was a legend in the lower leagues it's a shame he could not hack it in the premiership. It's nice to see him doing good in scotland..
Just watching his goals again displays his ability off left and right foot. He takes his penalties right-footed (presumably his perceived stronger foot) but scores so many times from outside of the box with his left foot. His scorcher against Bristol Rovers (goal 28) was my favourite at the Liberty for years.
Always like Scotland, was a great player, and was always happy for him to join Wigan as it was his last real chance at the Prem, shame it never worked out for him. I know it may sound a bit nasty, but Bony is definitely a rich man's Scotland.
Jason was "the man". Great striker, and only cost £25,000.00,then sold for a cool million. How good a piece of business was that? Sadly,it all fell a little flat for him at Wigan.
He's still looking good on the pitch, and scored a corker of a goal in that game, boys a legend!........................
We also had Mark Gower wriggling through the opposition defence, getting to the dead ball line, and setting up Jason for a tap in. Goal No.40,I think.
Dyer scoring on the give and go with Scotland one time , might have been against Cardiff even , was superb work by Scotland , almost Bony like ... was a great goal .Big part to us making the rise so others can reap the benefits , Martinez and Scotland are more responsible for us getting to the Premier as most . Between football and the money we recieved when they left , thanks to both ... another 70 million or so ready to bombard us after making money year after year .
Jason Scotland cost the princely sum of £25,000.00. He was sold on for £1,000,000.00 after having scored 53 goals for the Club. His goals helped jettison the Club through the lower Leagues. Those stats alone must surely make him our best ever signing.
