I actually think Rudi Gestede is worth a punt, he was on fire in the last month for Blackburn and wouldn't be anywhere near Rhodes' price
There's some good ones there but ulloa always struck me as being utterly ****. Gomez is an cheating bastard. Rhodes ,Snodgrass, Hughes, caulker and McCormack would do me. Trouble is you're looking at over £40m. We can get foreign gems for virtually nothing like Yun as well, we just need the scouting and not sign players who are offered by their agents.
Much rather any of these than yet another has-been who has done the rounds and fallen out of favour. Orient and Rotherham showed that there is a fair bit of talent in the lower leagues if we bother to look for it these days. The only one I'd have doubts about would be Gomez. Mind you, I'd have to stop abusing Hughes for being a cheating , diving, little bastard. He should stick to playing the football which he is rather good at.
Definitely agree on George Thorne. Very impressive at Derby last few months. Perhaps WBA would loan him out to us. No harm in asking them!
Will Hughes would be an obvious target as a long term investment. Think he would flourish playing alongside Barton. He'd also create a lot of chances in the final third. Priority is to seek an alternative or a partner for Charlie Austin, so we need a forward with pace. Targets could be; 1. Britt Assombalonga (Potentially better than Dwight Gale, he's raw but can certainly find the back of the net, he found the net every other game this season - 17 in 31 games) 2. Nakhi Wells (Redknapp didn't seem to fancy him but his pace combined with a high work rate would endear him to our fans and he's another who doesn't often waste chances) In defence, Harry Maguire is a no brainer. Doesn't look like a footballer but he was crucial to Sheff Utd's progression to the FA Cup Semi Finals. Still only 20 years old.
