Any players we bring in should be better than those we already have in their position otherwise we're gonna be in the same mess as before...

That's where we went wrong last time, we bought player who were no better than what we had already but on 4 times the wages.

Also, apparently Zamora is gone and it was said in an interview on the official site.

That one more we need to get in. Were up to ten players by even the most conservative amount.

    I don't agree:
    ---------------------Green----------------------
    Simpson---------Onuoha----?/Rio------------Yun
    --------------Barton--------Faurlin--------------
    Hoilett---------------???------------------Phillips
    -------------------Austin-----------------------

I think that's a better side than Palace stayed up with. I agree that we will need one or two more than I stated, but if we try to buy a whole new team again it just won't work. We must learn!

You listed 9 players there which only one different than what I said. We need at least 18 of that quality.

You can add Traore and then it gets very poor and very old.

So you think we need to replace virtually the entire squad? And you think that's the way to go?

I think we have about 9 players for the PL, close to what you've listed.
After that, were into players like Jenas, henry, SWP, Doyle, Maiga, Zamora, O'Neill, AJ, Keane, Carroll etc

We only have 1 forward on the books so need 3 more there, 2-3 goalies depending on if green resigns.

You listed 9 players, do you really think 16 others not listed are capable of the PL?
    We simply have no choice.
We will sign 8 players minimum. If we don't we will have to sign another 10 next season to replace the 35 yo players who just got a renewed contract.
I'd rather like it the upheaval to one season and not two.

6 needed. 2 forwards, 2 midfield, 2 defenders. Spine of the team. The rest are already good enough, as long as the signings are decent....

I agree to a point, but I think some of our swuad players will suffice as squad players next season, as I just can't stand the thought of doing what we did last time and bringing in too many in one go.

I don't want to do it and its a reason why I hate signing old players, they need to be replaced all the time.

Id have hill as fourth cb, Faurlin and Traore but no other player over 30 back. We bought in mercenaries last time, we will be OK if we bring in the right sort this time. Even if its 12-15.

People are saying sign 5-6 but no one has actually listed the 19-20 they'd keep of the current lot.

Respect for the effort here. I hope Harry, Beard and the Board put in a proper strategy for transfer targets. Just for a change it would be nice to be done and dusted sometime before deadline day.

Don't be silly, deadline day wouldn't be deadline day without Harry rolling down his window and gushing about some 'trific player'...

That's still 8 new signings, 9 if you take out Zamora who's apparently said he's leaving us.

Its a good effort with reasonable signings but we aren't getting away with 6 or less signings.

I wasn't counting the loans. And also don't count the GK really as I don't think bringing in a new reserve 'keeper will 'disrupt the squad' etc

It would if you bought in one like camp.
I know, its 9 new signings plus a few loan made permanent. Its still double figures in signings but 9 new players.

Im of the opinion that the current squad needs tweaking and nothing more. We tried to run before we could walk last time and it didnt work. I wouldnt mind ferdinand at cb. Think it would be an ideal partnership with onohua.
On paper im quite optimistic that our squad with 2 to 4 additions would survive comfortably.

    green
    simpson onohua ferdinand yun

    Barton livermore
    hoillet morrison phillips
    Austin

murphy dunne traore oneil krankjar donaldson benayoun zamors dellatorre

would happily pay 8 million for morrison buy livermore ferdinand free and a striker or two
