I just want to apologise to Paul (DT) for calling him "anti QPR".
I know you're not and I sincerely apologise for saying it.

It's just that I was on such a high after the Wembley win and you were, again praising our opponents. Just as you did after we had beaten Wigan, saying that they deserved to win. In fact, we had around 75% possession for most of the 2nd half and battered them into submission with one of our best performances of the season.

I realise that you don't agree and I will try to ignore your posts in future as I seldom seem to agree with them.

Once again.........apologies for what I said.

    Col.

He'll be in his Anti-England mode for the next month or so, I sometimes think he can't help provoking...

Col I think DT/FJ/Swords Hopster is up to his neck in Brie and vin ordinaire at the moment. Also, without trying to sound patronising; you had to be there on Saturday to realise just what a day it was.

I think the point he was making was that we've managed to gain promotion whilst playing some abysmal football but we came together when it mattered......yes it was Barnsley away when we finally 'gelled'. Barnsley. Our catalyst. I'm going to miss it next season.

The one big thing that's come out of this season, with Brix's sad passing and our clinching promotion has been the not606 'team spirit'. I doubt no other board on this forum is as close as we are.

    We R together!

I agree that the football has been poor a lot of the time. But I can't agree that we didn't deserve to beat Wigan and I just find the constant criticism of our club a little tiresome.
I was on such a high after Saturday and as you say, I suppose you "had to be there".

Yep. Since Barnsley when Charlie found his feet and Yun showed what he can do we found some form and grit. That was evident away and home against Wigan and especially on Saturday. It got us over the line

I've watched a game with him, he's a lot different to what you'd expect.

    A bit like me really.

For my penneth...we well deserved to beat Wigan in the second match. End off.
But against Derby, we edged the first half, but in the second half, they were good......but I was understanding what Arry was doing (at last)...consolidate and hold and then from 60 minutes rank up the pressure...I expected to see Zamora and Yun come on and us take control of the game....but then ONeil

The plan was then don't concede and hope to get lucky (with penalties...it was all we could hope)

I am fully aware we were not the better team, we did not dersve to win...but we cut our cloth appropriately. We played as a team, we played with a plan....and we were together

Just a moments relapse in Derby's resolve "they won't keep this up into extra time, the 10 men will tire". They just relaxed for a split second and LUCK has it we pounced.

A team together can move a mountain

Derby well deserved to win, but #weRtogether actually brought home the trophy
I agree so entirely with Col....you had to be there

I agree with every word of that except the word LUCK. I honestly don't think we were lucky. Derby weren't good enough to take advantage of the extra player. They didn't create clear-cut chances and Charlie's opportunity was better than any of theirs. They played well and deserved something from the game, but our determination and togetherness won the day..........along with the skill and composure to take that chance which they failed at.

Exactly, that´s how I saw it Col, at the end of the day we defended resolutely and Derby played well but were not good enough to beat us. Great day out even though still suffering!!

You have to imagine he pops an acid tab before each post, everything starts to make sense then.

Col, bought myself some England gear at the Nike store while in London. Love London, love England. And after a weekend like this I will be cheering England on in the World Cup.

    Good luck mate!

i'll second that. i do think we were lucky but aside from that they simply did not create enough good chances. 5 shots on target - 4 would have been saved by any remotely competent keeper. one onto the post was good save by Green i thought. they had lots of possession but they did not do enough with it. i was more worried wigan would equalise in the semi tbh.

When down to 10 men it was backs to wall but derby wern't that threatening, ok had a lot of the play but our defence was solid & your always going to get one chance with 10 men & we took it, lucky nah derby had no cutting edge.

Even Claridge said so on the Football League Show. When pressed, he said that as far as stats went, we were second best in everything except goals scored. However, that didn't mean that Derby carved out loads of clear-cut chances. When we had to defend, we defended manfully, and what looked to us to be sitting too deep, was simply the means to not allow any spaces to the Derby players. We closed the gap between defence and midfield and allowed them possession - but only to around 30 yards out. Then they were closed down and forced back. On the few occasions they put the ball in, it was cleared away pretty well.
