Now Shergar, I've read some rubbish on here but this is up there. Zola not a great player?? Besides this is about the PL, not Italy. It was only his age that stopped European Clubs going for him, they all thought, wrongly, that he was finished. Maybe the PL is a few rungs down from European competition in terms of skill and class, because Zola was a revelation. I'd take Zola ahead of any current PL player. If we had him in this Chelsea team we wouldn't have lost this year.

 

Drogba had a brilliant team around him... Only had two seasons where he hit the heights in terms of goals scored. Suarez has beaten his goalscoring exploits in a much weaker Liverpool side. Drogba was however undoubtedly a fear factor and serious big game player. But nothing on say Henry or Shearer.

Could argue for Torres on this list for 2007-2011. Was incredible in those days

 

It's actually worrying that people think Fowler was better than Drogba. Nowhere near him.

 

Fowler was a decent prem striker but crap in Europe and for England.

 

Henry was class

 

Yeah cause he took English football by storm, with 59 goals in 229 games. I know he wasn't an out and out striker, but that's still very poor for a 2nd striker. It's worse than 1 in 4

 

You're an embarrassment. If you can't appreciate a player with the class of Zola or Bergkamp then you should stop watching this sport as it is not for you. Stat loving ****er.

I think you'll find it's you that needs the maths classes, 59 in 229 is worse than 1 in 4

 

Suarez played 9 games in all competitions against last season's top 4 and scored 1 goal... against United... when they were already down to 10 men. Suarez is the best flat track bully there has ever been but when Liverpool struggle to score he does too. Strikers like RVP, RVN, Drogba and Shearer might not score 12 in 5 against Norwich, like Suarez has, but they will score in the big games which has led to their teams going on to win titles.

Suarez is a World Class footballer but not a World Class striker.

Errr.. 229/59=3.9 so he got 1 in 3.9 which I think might be better than 1 in 4. He could have played a whole seven extra games without scoring and finished with exactly 1 in 4.
