If you have a bad season next year, you could possibly be playing Luton again the year after. I'm sure you wont be though
Good morning all from a warm and dry Weston-super-Mare! Rain promised for later and that's one promise they always keep! Have a good day!
Mrs S says thanks for the birthday wishes, she had nice relaxing day after we cleared the debris from the previous nights dinner party. Forgot to say I made her a birthday cake, choc of course, hardly ever bake but have say it was top drawer. Andy's place was loverly. We dined in the lounge which serves bar type menu, Mrs S had fish n chips and moi burgers! Was also served by a delightful young local lass, but sadly not man handled. Welcome ScullyOTW, loverly folk on here but Sth can be a bit annoying, especially at the moment.
Morning all from wet and chilly Bandit Country. Lazy day today, but we are going for a walk along the canal after dropping the pa-in-law back home. We need to start exercising again now that the dissertation is done and all the science exams finished - so EEG are starting a walking regime to get that started.
2004 - lived in the Tarn & Tarn et Garonne for 5 years - my french is still very ropey due to my age and being dim.
Morning all, just been reading an article by Ollie. http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sp...rned_fisherman_enjoying_a_more_tranquil_life/ Last day down here and must make the most of it. Have a good day!
Many thanks for the welcome guys (and girls), this forum is soooo different from some of the others that are extremely aggressive.
Morning all from a dry (for now) Jersey. As I was on my way to the shop earlier, I heard this line from a conversation by 2 cyclists: "it was worse than the ****ing QPR match". I would love to know what the comparison was to - maybe England's dismal display at Durham.
Good to have you here - we tend to fill in during the close season with all sorts of rubbish - not necessarily football related but quite interesting for some of us - then back to real things in August
I'm going to spend the summer trying to understand the workings of FFP - at the moment all I know is that it certainly doesn't mean Fit For Purpose! Have to love football governing bodies - they cobble togther rules to react to a situation without ever considering the unintended consequences.
I don't think the basic rules are that complicated - mostly just a limit on the amount of losses you make based on your accounts. The amounts differ depending how high you are up the pyramid. There is also a wages limit per club in the Premiership - but that does get complicated as it is based on your previous spend - not an absolute amount - so the rules do not create an even playing field. The real issue is that accounts can hide a multitude of sins. As you say it smacks of authorities putting in place somethng - anything - to make it look like they are doing something but in fact they have not looked into it fully
Evening all Horrible wet day here so Mrs H and I have been making lots of home made ravioli. Most is now in the freezer but we'll have some spinach and ricotta with a bottle of Orvieto. Just preparing ourselves with olives and a glass of pastis.
From a club perspective wages will be what they are declared to be in the accounts. All they have to do is persuade their auditors that they are true and fair - so no room for manouevre there eh?
