Just make your mind up MO ok ?

He has 1 year left on his contract . Sign an extended contract or go now . Cannot face this again if you stay for 1 year and it all kicks off again in January or when ever.......

That's what I'm beginning to think. Or, put more bluntly, "if you don't want the job mate, then **** off and we'll give it to someone who does".

It's all idle speculation though, until we hear something concrete.

Lamballana, I'm with him on that. To have him stay now and not sign a new contract would be the insane option in my view. Do you really think the players would 'buy' that it's all ok, he's staying and he'll sign a new contract sometime in the next year. With all what has been said, he needs to sign or go.

Imho if he stays for one more season , he is not totally committed to the club unless of course be signs an extended contract ..

What's not idle speculation is that in the last two days, two of our players have been quoted as saying they are unsure about MP staying.... "All the players live him and want him to stay." If it was truly idle speculation, the quotes would be more 'We are not worried, papers talk' ... In the knowledge their boss had told them it is all ok.

I can't recall one saints player even giving the impression that this is all idle talk.

Agreed and this is potentially more unsettling than him going now.

Until the MO situation is sorted (one way or the other) nothing else will happen regarding purchase/sales so it is vital to get this sorted this week
I'm am getting feed up with the constant speculation and want things to happen good or bad so we can move on and starting looking forward instead of constantly reading the tripe that is being regurgitated in the media

One thing to remember is that MP has been here a relatively short time...we won games and had a happy team before he came...it isn't suddenly going to fall apart. the important thing is the quality of our next manager.

Sorry flt, but to my ears (eyes?) you've just provided a near perfect example of idle speculation. To whit, in the absence of any real information, you're trying to wring meaning out of very little. You might as well try and read chicken gizzards as interpret what our players are "quoted as saying", out of context, by unreliable media sources.

The one thingh that is speaking volumes to my ears though, is this prolonged silence.

Exactly...I expected a quick statement. We are just waiting for Spurs to make up their mind and that sticks in my craw. If it's not them, do we carry on waiting whilst our (OUR) manager flirts with other teams. Let's get started on planning for next season.

I'm not sure I fully understand you here. I listened to Jayrod say he is unsure of MPs future; that to me is louder than the silence, although I agree that what is not being said is certainly making its own noise. I could suggest both you and I are making more out of the silence than there is though too :)

I'm not on about all the articles, but the interviews I've heard.

Fair enough, I haven't heard the JRod interview. I'd ask you where I could find it, but I'd probably be happier cocking a deaf ear to be honest..

Probably right. Having said that, there has been so much rubbish flying around that I may have my wires crossed. I have been wrong before.... (I remember once being wrong in about 1986, but the wife thinks I've been wrong a lot since then!)

Just noticed that Poyet is favourite to be our next manager....and you thought life couldn't get worse.

If we lost Lallana, Shaw and Poch, and brought in Poyet, I think I'd actually struggle to support the team.

I'd actually prefer our manager to not speak English and if he could wear a mask.....

I wouldn't go that far, but we could talk through gritted teeth about , which is how he seems to talk.

apparently it doesn't matter if a manager is on a one year contract or a ten year contract. they can leave tomorrow if they want to...

then why doesn't poch sign the contract?

    a) the club doesn't want to commit to him long term and hasn't offered him one.

    b) it is actually a commitment from the manager, contrary to krueger's claims.

    c) brown
