His ethics and decency would have been taught to him by his dad, if he had been there for him. Don't agree with him shagging his brothers wife but she also agreed to it.
Come on guys reality chack, the dad is the scum bag for using his sons fame to get cheap pubilicity for another marriage.

Ryan Giggs. One of the greatest footballers of our generation and the most decorated Welsh footballer of all time.

Plenty of humans have issues in their personal life and the harsh reality is that his personal life should be of no concern to football fans.

Well said PGF , not sure I'd want to hang around with a guy like Giggs but brings me great joy to watch play ... I feel much the same about Bellamy , not my cup of tea socially , but what a footballer .

Both Giggs and Bellamy are from Cardiff. There must be something added to the water in the capital city. <laugh>

I've done nothing worthy of being labelled a piece of scum. It's not hard to be a decent person, it's easy to not sleep around with anyone else's woman... let alone your own brothers wife. And then to not apologise is just shows the real Ryan Giggs is a piece of ****.

I think he was one of the greatest, playing at the highest level for over 20 years. You have to be something special to play for that amount of years at the top.

I definately think Giggs could have been more committed to Wales, even before retirement, it's a very small amount of caps he has when you think he made his debut at 17. Wether you want to blame SAF or not, ultimately the decision was Giggs', you never saw Mark Hughes miss a game when he was at Utd.
Off the field, if any of us want to use Premier League footballers as moral compasses then we are in deep deep trouble!!

After reading some of the replies on this topic, I'm shocked that people either say I don't care or that he's only human!

He got his brothers wife pregnant and made her abort it! Sorry but that's not a mistake!

" No man is a Moment " complaicated situation that all but a few know anything about . An all star footballer with very few players above him in the success side of seasons . Hope the families can get on with living in the future , it' a rough enough road without being a celebrity . Not condoning anything here , just remembering a career amongst careers.

Well said swan, and that's what I'll remember him for as his private life is none of my business.

You are right, it's not a mistake. It's a massive personal issue which he has to sort out with his family. But it's got nothing to do with 20 years of his professional life.

His ability is not in question its his lack of commitment to wales that has let him down in the fans eyes. He did not need to retire when we really needed him as its not as iff he played every game for wales anyway. He let his country down big time and that is unforgivable as he lost a lot of respect from many fans...

Why did he let Wales down? Him retiring extended his playing career at the biggest club in world football and allowed him to win another CL and sackful of league titles.

do you remember the time he retired valley because i do and we were short of talent and he let us down when we had important home games coming up that we were in with a chance of winning....He let his country down alright....you don't honestly buy into the bullshit of extending his career.<laugh> what possible difference would a few games for wales make to his extension....

He could still do a job for Wales - but that's not the issue. The OP questioned if Giggs was worse "scum" than John Terry. I think that most football fans will kick that statement into touch.

You answered your own guestion dai . Wales was going nowhere at the time of retirement and he had a truckload of games in the biggest competitions in the World ..... who's being greedy , you or him ..... you expect to much from someone in his , talented , shoes.Check out his fixture lists and travel shedule before you start adding Wales games into the fray .

I do not rate Giggs that highly, he was always old bacon faces lap dog, he could never be counted for Wales, so many times he would just throw an excuse why he couldn't play, Dai is right. It was some time ago that this issue came out regarding his adulterous relationship with his own brothers wife, and it wasn't a one minute fling, he was carrying on with her for 8 years for crying out loud, and you have to remember that gigs had dumped this girl some time previous, before his brother married her, she was one of his x girl friends, so he should have been especially careful, clearly he had no thought whatsoever regarding his younger brother, and this has put an even darker cloud on the ego maniac, I agree with his father that Giggs should have put this right, but I do not agree with his father shouting his big mouth off and opening such sad family wounds in public....................<ok>

Chances of a player from Wales having any success Nationally for years hasn't been so good , so to see a few Welsh players get berated for playing for Great Britain in an major World Football event shows how hard and complicated it is for players from Wales to please they re country , career and self fulfillment at theyre job
