. I'm not being pro or anti Laudrup. OK for the intellectually challenged out there. Let's put this to bed. In terms of achievements in British Football (league positions and cups) what was Swansea City's most successful season ever? Why was it the most successful season ever? Who was the Manager that delivered that success? Answers on a postcard...... For ****'s sake it's NOT OPINION! it's fact. Jeez! Saying Martinez and or Rodgers achieved mare is simply not true even though both were great for us. It's not ****ing rocket science people!
You forgotten already? Are you going senile? No insult, just an obvious question based on the level of your output on this Forum.
Hysterical. So I suppose if you were to ask an outsider what our most successful season was they'd say something else. Subjective? What the ****? What with Phill's religious ramblings and this stuff I'm increasingly coming to the conclusion that some of our fans are totally batshit crazy.
Case could be made for Toshack's being more successful. Finished higher in the league. Got us promoted 3 times. FWIW It's my opinion that Laudrup's first season was our most successful. Would never be arrogant to claim it as a fact, let alone hurl personal abuse at someone who (maybe) disagrees with me.
You actually believe some think Toshack was more successful? They'd be wrong. Simple. But it's interesting to see you agree that in fact Laudrup was our most successful manager ever so why are we arguing?
What Toshack managed to do was unbelievable. Not only did he do those three promotions he had our club at the top of the pyramid in March, until injuries meant we had to play back up players and finish sixth which is still our highest ever finish and will likely never be surpassed. He is easily a contender for being our most successful manager. Whilst Laudrup will be in our record books as being the first to deliver a major cup, he didn't replace Toshack's name in the clubs record books for our best season in the league.
Weren't we relegated under him? Our most successful season ever was last season. No brainer. 9th in the Prem - more competitive than the First Division ever was and a Cup win that Tosh never delivered.
Been down hill since valley Imo , hard to prove but I think we would have finished better this season if Laudrup wasn't sacked and more importantly , we would get a more stable start next season if Laudrup wasn't sacked... IN MY OPINION.
Dragon, our highest finishing position in the PL and a major cup win equals our most successful season. ML is certainly the Manager who achieved most success in one season. However, it does not necessarily follow that that makes him our most successful Manager ever. A case can be made for Tosh who delivered 3 promotions and our highest ever League finish in the English pyramid system. Others may argue for Martinez or Rodgers.
Laudrup earned an entire 2nd season , because of his fantastic first season , and didn't get it . Otherwise there is no telling what might have been in store for us the 2nd half of the season with his HEALTHY team that was presented to Monk . Contrary to popular9 believe , Laudrup's sacking was conjured up early in the season by Jenkins and not so much because of his bad luck run over Christmas into January . Huw starting stabbing Laudrup in the back with the firing of Laudrup's agent and continued in the press through the season
Stop trying to re write history roof? He was sacked for trying to sell Ash to Arsenal and poking his nose into matters which were none of his business.
Fairly lucky wins against Newcastle and Villa with a victory against an uninterested Sunderland team last game after they secured a Premier League spot , Hardly feeling optimistic but I a.ways live in hope valley ., If not for those 3 wins from 4 games at the end , we were in trouble and none of those 3 victories were anything to write home about .
If any of you would sit down and think with your brains instead of your arse you will see that laudrup inherited a winning formula, He actually said he knows nothing about the swans or British football and he certainly did not know any of our players...It was the backroom staff and Curtis who steered laudrup through the first part of of season and it was Rodgers system that won us the cup. Laudrup knew nothing at that stage and the minute he decided to play his way we went to rat **** and ended up the second worst team of the season and it was lucky that we played Rodgers way at the beginning or we would not be here now....Look at his actual record and you will see him as one of the worst ever and that's why he was sacked...He was not our type of manager for our type of football and never was......
