Whoever thought up the flag idea... achieved what they wanted... brilliant... looked spectacular.. but sadly there were flag thieves about my seat and next to me no flag.. but the person behind me had a plastic bag full of flags tucked away.. he is the son of a well known early sixties QPR player a legend in fact.. I wont name him as he was not the only person on a flag collecting spree.. apart from that yes a fantastic never never to be forgotten day..
I managed to snaffle a few, but only from after the game when they had been left behind. Handing them out to mates who couldn't be there. Agree it was an amazing sight and a stroke of genius to sort that out. Even derby fans did it looked brilliant.
Got 4 but they were left on the floor as I left late, milked for all it was worth actually could have got 10 if I wanted.
Got one to take back to Aus, proudly displayed in the rear window of the hire car on the way back to north wales. Got a few waves from over drivers on the M6 north of Brum Just watched a replay of the game, the flags looked brilliant
What's the story about how it came to be? Why didn't Derby try to do the same? Did they simply not think of it? Or does Tony know a man at Wembley?
It might have something to do with this bloke awjm...............Jim Frayling.
