Yes, Caulker is loads better than Lovren. You should definitely get him instead.

And of course, Caulker has played for England. Lovren hasn't, so case closed, I'd say.

The sports editor for the star also predicted us to be relagated when were good enough to finish eighth?
I am beginning to think he has a personal grudge of some sorts against us..

Not saying that players won't leave, but our board must be doing something right if it isn't all done and sorted. We have probably put a price on each player equivalent to what they are worth to us and not necessarily related to their market value or what United, Liverpool etc are willing to pay. We are not a charity and not on our uppers as so many think. If we do sell for the price we want, the remaining players will not be available for sale. No one should fear a clear out. We do not have to sell, so if we get in silly money for a couple of players, we definitely won't sell the rest.

I want to see us linked to some random Italian...transfer season hasn't started if we've had no dubious translations of foreign papers.

he only scored 4 times in 21 games, so it doesn't look particularly promising. Though on the other hand, if we sell our entire team as the papers speculate, he may get a chance

They stopped playing him as well, if you can't get into one of the worst teams in the French league then it's not a great sign.

He's lost it, clearly. Not worth holding out hope for.

Sorry...I must have read his goals scored wrongly. As said, not good enough if he can't score in that league.

Zambian striker Emmanuel Mayuka has said he's enjoyed his loan spell away from Southampton this season at French side Sochaux, and he's returning to us for pre season training in good confidence and good spirits ready to impress himself on manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Speaking to the BBC the 23 year old joined us back in 2012 with a big reputation but it's fair to say he struggled at St Mary's in his time with us, making only three starting appearances across all competitions, with a further ten appearances from the bench. In that time he scored once in the League Cup victory over Barnsley.

He's now ready to change all that in 2014-15 having been a regular at Sochaux, scoring four times in 21 appearances.

'I won't consider my first season in England as a failure because I didn't really get enough opportunities. On a personal note this loan has helped me regain confidence and I can take positives away even though I would have loved for the club to stay up. They gave me a chance to enjoy regular football again. I can only thank the club and wish them well for the future.'

Sochaux were unfortunately relegated at the end of the campaign.

'Now my primary objective is to go back to Southampton to try and convince the manager that I deserve a chance in the team.'

Mayuka goes on to say that the English league is very different from other leagues in the world, and it's far more intense and that's why people want to challenge themselves, especially in the Premier League and he's confident that if he gets the chance next term, it will be a successful season for him.

I read a similar article which said Saints owe it to the EPL to carry on progressing. We are so close to being a very good side indeed. Pundits and footballers have enjoyed watching us this season. We are not totally desperate for money, so I think the team would stay together if the players and agents weren't trying to arrange exits. Come on, Adam and Luke, give us another season. Take a chance on us.
