Ballotelli isn't flexible enough and doesn't work hard enough. Plus huge personality problems. Not even a great goal scorer either... Think he got like 10 in Italy this year? Much rather stay clear
interesting we are comparing stats between Skrts,Caulker and Lovren. wouldn't it make more sense to do it with the 2 players people think they might replace ie Agger and Kolo. bit gutted that the main reason for getting rid of Agger is his injury problems, yet we are giving chances to Kelly and maybe Enrique?
Age and wage are probably reasons why. Agger is older and on more money so his injuries cost is more in theory.
I think we can expect some developments this week re. Caulker. Good young CB but I was hoping we would get a more established leader to play alongside Sakho. Re. Can - I will be very happy if we can get him signed. Fantastic young player and you don't find too many 20 year olds making such an impact.
Rumour I heard yesterday from an EFC scout was Milner to LFC. You heard it hear first! #intheknowmelike
Wouldn't be the worst freebie going but only for a place in centre. Would not want him playing on the wing and slowing things down. Decent option to be a safe dependable player and keep the ball.
I actually think Milner is another player like Barry who City (and alot of other fans) seem to hugely under rate. Pretty good touch and quick one two passing for a supposed slow and 'hard working' player. If he was younger, I'd love him. Similar to Henderson in many ways, but not sure now's the right time for us to go for him. He's a great player for linking up between top drawer players, but isn't himself going to make a huge difference to our team.
Wouldn't be free though. He's still got a year left on his contract and rumour are that City need to keep hold of him in order to fulfil Homegrown quota. Cause of the FFP punishment it could mean that City force him to stay and would be willing to lose out on any money the following summer should he still be wanting to leave. Its a difficult one, yes would work well for us but how much are we willing to spend on him and City can afford not to sell him. Suppose it relies on how much Milner wants to leave and what City do this summer.
Surely now we've made CL we should be aiming for a higher calibre of player opposed to Milner? We want to push on from here after all. Seriously think we really need to push the boat out this Summer, maybe sign a "marquee" signing as a signal of intent. I consider Pedro, Sanchez, Shaqiri or even Lallana to be a marquee signing. Hoping we also have a new full back in the pipeline. Siquera, Rodrigues, Moreno, just someone decent please! Emre can is a decent player, again, set our sights higher! Take advantage of the CL football + funds.
Lallana had had one good season, he may go on to have many more but you can't class him as a marquee signing yet.
Maybe so mate, but I've watched Southampton a **** ton of times this season and he's been easily the best player on the pitch every time. The lad is sheer class, he's what I hope Coutinho could become.
For those who don't listen to it the Anfield Wrap has had an agent on going through the way the system works, really interesting.
Agger and Sakho are LCB. Caulker and Lovren play RCB. This season Skrtel has played RCB. So we are comparing like for like positions. I actually think Milner is a very decent player. Often gets wasted as a winger but is very tidy and strong in the middle.
Lallana is an awesome player. Some people judge him poorly because he plays for Southampton and not a club like Real Madrid but people need to get over that. Lallana could have held his own in last nights CL final. And to any one who watched lasts nights game. Boom Di Maria was awesome!
I'd disagree about Di Maria. He was Real's best attacking player, no doubt about that and was the only one committing the Atletico defenders, but overall he was greedy and blinkered for most of the time. Real's best players on the night were Ramos and Marcelo, who changed the game after coming on.
Agree with both. When he played in a central three at Villa he was superb (although so was Downing ), same at Newcastle. He has a great engine, desire and fight, decent touch, good tackler, can pass and given the chance he can get a goal or two too. Stick him out on the wing and he looks poor because he's not got the pace or acceleration for a winger. Before he joined Man City, I was shouting for us to sign him as a long term replacement for Gerrard!
