    Blue Ruin

Excellent independent . Dark moody tale of revenge . One of the best films I've seen this year .

Saw someone mention the film Trading Places on a shares forum, somehow I've never seen it. Woke up really early this morning so downloaded the torrent and watched it. Very funny and with the typical 80s happy ending. Gratuitous breasts applenty too.

    Calvary

Very, very dark Irish comedy about a man who goes into confessional and tells the priest he's going to kill him because he suffered from years of sexual abuse at the hands of another priest.

Absolutely terrific performances from Brendan Gleeson and Chris O'Dowd. Even Dylan Moran reaches levels of acting I never thought he was capable of.

    I highly recommend it <ok>

    This is difficult to imagine.

I'll need to give it a watch though before writing the guy off.

Godzilla - better than I expected. Bubble gum pop for the masses but still highly entertaining. 8/10

    Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa.

Has it's moments, maybe not as good as any of the TV stuff but has quite a fair sprinkling of good jokes. My favourite was when Colm Meany is telling Partridge's asisstant that his wife had been taken by the angels and he shows him a photo. The asisstant says "There must have been a few of them".

Amusing watch, especially if you're stoned.

    Oculus .

A pretty good psychological horror that stars Dr Who ridwig Karen Gillan .

She is actually very good in this . Does a fine job with the American accent . She only slips into broad Scots once or twice .

Gets a bit scrappy towards the end but I enjoyed it . I do however have a wee thing for Karen .

    She wid git it .

    7/10 .

I presume you mean the end bit - I too was a bit shocked by that, but apparently he's always had that power - they took it out of the 1998 film when they basically stretched out the t-rex bit from JP2 into a whole film.
