Would his mate have admitted spiking the drink if it had ledtp the death of someone? As for school boy prank,,that is bollocks. Who in there write mind drinks tow pints of steels and a sambuka with car keys in their pocket? Bunch of arrogant twats. He got caught and should bemqn enough to take the blame.

You only spoke drinks on stag dos and big nights out. Not pool down the local.

Pretty sure the court saw through it. Hard to prove anyone is lying under oath in these circumstances.

    Was his friend prosecuted?

Do you have to be knowingly over the limit, or just over the limit?

What could he be charged with? He didn't know the fella was going to try to drive home.

What the **** do you think?

I forget the detail, but isn't there something about "actions reckless to the consequences"

I think it's being over the limit, whether you know it or not. Not sure about the sex part of your question though.

Edit...google says spiking a drink is an offence.

Anyone caught drinking driving should lose their licence for 5 years, spend 6 months in nick and be punched repeatedly in the face for those 6 months.

There is no excuse whatsoever to excuse it.

You shouldn't be allowed a license in fact until you've spent a night in AE seeing what happens, and then a whole day in a morgue watching what happens there too.

Too much effort I suspect. In case it wasn't obvious, I don't ever drink even a pint if Im driving, and whilst I don't understand why anyone does, 1 pint is probably ok.

2 pints of wife beater and a sambucca is not alright. Nor is "I felt fine to drive" when you're clearly over the current legal limit.

The law needs tightening up. Drink drivers should be seen in exactly the same light as someone committing murder of innocent bystanders. It's not an accident that was unpreventable.

Well the body naturally produces alcohol. Some people genetically produce more of it than others so, by natural selection (I'm not sure whether nature can adapt to man-made laws or just environmental factors) you could do it but not everyone is going to be happy about it.

Some countries do have a zero tolerance to it though (lightweights <whistle>).

If I'm driving, I have nothing at all alcoholic, so there's no room for doubt, but what do others do the morning after a good night out? How long do you leave before driving? How long is safe?

Most blokes who drive pissed are still far safer than sober Indian women drivers, those Indian women are incredibly dangerous, I'd ban them for life before they've even taken their test.

Reminds me a bit of this story

The charge is being drunk in charge of a vehicle, not drink driving.

I limit myself to six pints if I'm driving.

And if I've had a big night out, I wait at least an hour before driving in the morning.

To really improve your statistical safety, you should speed too. The bulk of accidents involve sober people driving below the speed limit.

This is very true, while pissed, I try and exceed 90 at all times, to make sure I'm off the roads as quickly as possible. it's important to consider other road users.
