Need managerial stability here before a player with choices will come. Players want to be schmoozed by a manager, so that they know they are wanted and how they will fit in.

this is why i dearly hope krueger was bullshitting (and not just ignorant) about not seeing any problem with the manager's 1 year contract.

 

I would accept a guaranteed one year from Mauricio...would give time for future planning or for him to change his mind (if we even wanted to keep him after that). I think this is a very testing time for a new board...managerial stability would help them. He could advise them about the best way forward with sales and purchases...otherwise Les Reed is the only footballing man.

how does that work? wouldn't the fee be 25m then and bournemouth would be due £6.25m

 

I did think that, unless there is a contract drawn up saying fee is £20m but Liverpool make the 25% (5m) payment to Bournemouth. Cherries could contest that but I doubt it.

I did read one article that said over £26m which would imply doing it the correct way.

 

That's the kind of deal I thought would happen. That way every one is happy apart from Saints fans.

 

the "contract" i've seen was very simple and stated bournemouth were due 25% of the fee received, not 25% of the value we are paid by the buyer.

it might be a loophole. it was basically just a short letter from guy askham IIRC.

 

I would expect us to be busy from the moment the final whistle went (if not before), but I think the lack of stability (or rather the perceived lack of stability as reported in the papers) would affect decisions in players with other choices. We could find ourselves in the embarrassing position of being beaten to a player by Redknapp (if they sort out their finances) just because he can rabbit them to signing.

 

Any player who chooses Redknapp/QPR over us, isn't the sort of player/person we're after.

 

Seems LFC want half your team. Schneiderlin (sp) now too.

In a twisted way I hope we're priced out and look elsewhere. A few additions and you'll be pushing for top 7, shame if the vultures descend.

Just want to post this now, before the inevitable wumming and fallout if we do sign Lovren and Lallana. Neutrals, LFC fans included have loved watching your side over the past few years.

EDIT: Forgot what I originally wanted to say. We're looking rid of Agger, and seem to want Lovren? Is there an ideal situation in there?

Seems we're ending up with Lovren, Caulker or both. I'd take Lovren first but think Caulker is a great player.

 

Anyone remember Ryan Dickson? Just been released by Colchester.
