You forget the master stroke on his part. Allow them a series of shots at our goal, never do anything more than hoof the ball away in the general direction of Bobby Zamora's head safe in the knowledge we would weather the storm for 60 minutes and murder them on penalties. Clearly very few of us on here realise the true genius of the man. Thank you Harry. And thank you SPB for pointing that out to us. I must remember to read your wise words before each game and take heed instead of calling it as I see it.
Some of you are never happy, it is obvious he has made mistakes, but according to us one of his mistakes was to play the MOM. We were down to 10 men, lost Kranky, a referee who gave us nothing and beat probably the best footballing team in the championship, made them look pretty ****. Live the moment FFS and stop moaning and look forward to the summer circus, I just hope we keep Morrison. Ive just got my voice back
I am not moaning and today was brilliant . I may not know best but I stand we have got up which is fantastic by more luck than judgement Harold has just purchased a list of his type of players and now he will want to add to that I have given him credit or his coaching staff for us now holding the ball I am not about to change my mind just because we won the biggest game of recent history which today I just feel relief ... Should of gone up auto and if anyone on here couldn't see how poor our team was set up yesterday then learn a bit We got through with a great back five performance IMO We held on and Harold's only tactic was pens ? FFS that is not football Credit to Hill for seeing that That is not QPR football
If we had played 'QPR football' we would have been thrashed yesterday, we set ourselves up to stifle Derby and try and hit them on the counter. Sadly Hoilett was in his 'SWP' mode yesterday constantly losing the ball when we broke, even his cross for the winner found Keogh who f*cked it up to Zamora. After O'Neil went off we had to shut up shop to survive. It wasn't pretty, it wasn't 'QPR' but it was effective at the death and that is all that mattered. I have a feeling Harry may move on anyway, 'quit while he's winning' and the next few weeks will be interesting as players we're being linked with give us an idea of what's going on. If we sign Rio then Harry will be staying?...
Spot on. We won. Did we play well? No. Have we played well this season? On the whole, not particularly. Can we do better? Most certainly. Yesterday was a good summary of our whole season. We stumbled over the line by performing in fits and starts. Is Harold the man to take us to the next level? We are the jury on that. I don't think so. Some will. Fine, I can live with that. It's interesting though that Hill saw the flaw in Harold's proposed solution. Are we supposed to give HR the credit for that?
I thank Harold for doing his job The result was great but I still feel that match should of been between Burnley and Derby ... It wasn't and no disrespect to Burnley or Derby they look to be far better sides than we have got at the moment The club has gone up and that is all that matters IMO however I have to see QPR become QPR again before I get excited again ... West Ham feel the same I am sure
Redknapp has taken Tottenham, Portsmouth and West Ham all to their highest premier league finishes. If you back him, he can build an exciting team and give your club (and fans) a team to be proud of. If you look at Redknapps best premier league teams, they have all been exciting teams, played fantastic football and overall his signings prove to be effective, plus when at spurs, we would often be in the **** but Redknapp would sort the team out at half time and win us the game, or he set up the team superbly to win away to AC Milan in the champions league.
Derbys average age is 20 according to mclaren, hes got them playing great with no big signings, Redknapp spent a fortune and has us playing awful. Swap managers and we would thrash them. Unfortunalte we will be int he bottom 3 int he PL under Redknapp, the fans will be calling for his head by xmas and we will have to go through the whole disharmony again if we dont get a new man now. Let him bring in 15 hungry new players, not rio, joe cole, parker etc
The majority of comments here seem to support the old adage/belief that players win matches and managers lose them. I'm afraid I wasn't tapped into Mr Redknapp's mind in the run up to yesterday's match, nor during the game itself, so cannot share the certainty that others have about his selection and tactics. If it was Hill that showed tactical nous and persuaded Mr Redknapp to make a different substitution, then doesn't that demonstrate the actions of an open-minded individual? As a manager (though, of course, not in football) myself, I like to take and consider the views of my team before making a decision: good management is seeking input, but being the final arbiter, isn't it?
This season has been all about getting rid of all the overpaid, lazy, egocentric ****s and getting back into the Prem. The idea was to bring in the journeymen, the experienced and the hard working professionals. No time to buy young and see if they could perform at this level. No time to mess about with the fancy stuff. A time to get a job done no matter how boring and uninspiring. Without promotion the club would have been very much up against it with FPP fines, etc. Who knows there may even have been a transfer embargo or they might have changed the rules and given us a points deduction at the start of next season. They can't do that now! It will still be very difficult having to balance the books next season with the fines, etc, but we are in a much better position to do so. The trick now is to maintain Prem status, bring in a few new faces - especially younger ones, learn from our mistakes and not get into the same position again. Job done .... by the skin of our teeth.
ID rather have a manager who can pick the right team and formation from the off, not wait until 45-60 mins to realise it and change it. We got around that in the champ as its so crap, teams will be out of site in the PL by HT with the teams he picks.
like I said, he has taken Tottenham, West Ham and Portsmouth to their highest premier league finishes. That isn't done by not knowing how to pick the right team.
I remained amazed by the negativity from the usual suspects on here. Guys, you may have some valid points, but credit also where credit is due, surely? The fact is that Redknapp got QPR promoted at the first attempt and against the backdrop of all the **** and infamy of the last season. For me that's some feat. Now you're starting to lambast him for things he hasn't yet done. What now seems to be a desire to see Redknapp go feels a little bit like a (tenuous) footballing equivalent of voting Churchill out in 1945 after he'd helped win the war. Thanks for the minor miracle Harry, but we wouldn't have done it like that and you're not going to do it the way we want in the future...so piss off.
I notice you left out Saints. I dont care what he does with other clubs, his team selections have been a joke all season and a long running joke on the boards about his tombola will pick each game.
Would you offer Zamora another deal at 50k a week? Football is harsh, weve been on the other end more than enough times and we have to do what is best for the club.
He joined saints when they where already virtually relegated, just like yourselves. Although I could balance that out by the fact he saved Portsmouth when they where virtually relegated. But the facts are when Redknapp builds his own team he has taken all three premier league clubs to their highest premier league finishes.
Just pointing out that we shouldnt offer zamora another contract just because he scored the winner, just like I dont want redknapp in the PL just because we went up.
